Stephensons advises on AOK Events Group’s acquisition of Melon

Louise Hebborn, a partner at Greater Manchester-based national law firm Stephensons, advised events management company AOK Events Group on its acquisition of event agency, Melon.

Battersea-based AOK Events Group was founded in 2000 and employs a total of 45 people, five of which join from Melon.

AOK Events Group has five core services including live events, venue finding, hospitality, sponsorship and event technology. The acquisition of Melon is intended to help grow AOK Creative, the company’s live events team.

Louise, a partner in the commercial team of Stephensons based at its Middlebrook, Bolton office, said: “AOK Events has experienced rapid growth over recent years and is now rightly seen as a leader in the events management industry. The acquisition of Melon will enable it to develop its services and its reputation even further and support its next phase of growth.”

Alex Hewitt, CEO of AOK Events Group, added: “Louise and the team at Stephensons have been outstanding in supporting our latest acquisition. Acquiring any business can be a long and often complex process but Stephensons has made it feel incredibly straightforward. We’re hugely excited to start this new chapter in the story of AOK Events Group.”
