Revolutionising Guest Experiences: A Comprehensive Guide to Selecting the Perfect Toiletries and Amenities for Your Hotel Stay

0

When it comes to creating a memorable experience for your hotel guests, every detail counts. From the décor of the rooms to the quality of the service, it all adds up to leave a lasting impression. One often overlooked aspect of this experience is the selection of toiletries and amenities provided in guest bathrooms. In this blog post, we will explore the different types of toiletries available for hotels – from miniature bottles to eco-friendly options – and why offering a great range of hotel amenity kits can truly elevate your guests’ stay.

  1. Miniature Toiletries: Miniature toiletries for hotels are a classic choice for establishments looking to provide guests with essential amenities in a convenient size. These small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion are perfect for short stays or travellers who prefer not to carry their own products. They add a touch of luxury to the guest experience and create a sense of pampering that guests appreciate.
  2. 300ml Toiletries: For guests staying longer or those who prefer larger quantities of products, 300ml toiletries are an excellent option. These larger bottles provide enough product for an extended stay without the need for frequent refills. They are also cost-effective for hotels as they require less frequent restocking compared to miniature sizes. Offering both miniature and 300ml options allows you to cater to different guest preferences and needs.
  3. Refillable Toiletries: Refillable toiletries have gained popularity in recent years due to their sustainability benefits. By providing refillable dispensers in guest bathrooms, hotels can reduce plastic waste and promote eco-friendly practices among guests. Refillable options also allow you to customise the products based on guest feedback or seasonal trends, keeping your offerings fresh and appealing.
  4. Eco-Friendly Toiletries: In addition to refillable options, there are many other eco-friendly toiletry choices available for hotels looking to minimise their environmental impact. From biodegradable packaging to natural ingredients, these products appeal to eco-conscious travellers who prioritise sustainability in their choices. By incorporating eco-friendly toiletries into your amenity’s lineup, you can attract environmentally conscious guests while demonstrating your commitment to responsible hospitality practices.
  5. Hotel Amenity Kits: Apart from individual toiletry items, offering hotel amenity kits in guest bathrooms can enhance the overall guest experience significantly. These kits usually include a selection of essential items such as dental kits, shaving kits, sewing kits, shower caps, and more – providing guests with everything they might need during their stay. Customising these kits with your hotel’s branding or unique touches adds a personal touch that sets your property apart from others.

Conclusion

In conclusion, selecting the right toiletries and amenities for your hotel plays a crucial role in creating a memorable guest experience that keeps them coming back again and again. Whether you opt for miniature bottles, 300ml sizes, refillable dispensers, eco-friendly options, or hotel amenity kits – each choice contributes to enhancing the overall comfort and satisfaction of your guests. By understanding their preferences and adapting your offerings accordingly, you can differentiate your property from competitors while showcasing your commitment to guest well-being and sustainability practices.

Erik ten Hag: Man United manager says he ‘knows future’ with Brailsford, backs Antony

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he “knows the future” under Sir David Brailsford’s expected leadership of the club’s football operations and has backed winger Antony despite the £86 million winger’s failure to produce a single Premier League goal or assist this season.

Brailsford, who is the head of performance for the Ineos Group which is owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and has taken over the football side of United, watched on as Ten Hag’s side suffered their first defeat of 2024 on Saturday with a shock 2-1 home defeat against Fulham.

Harry Maguire equalised in the 89th minute at Old Trafford but Alex Iwobi’s 97th-minute winner for the visitors, who had not won away since the opening day of the season, has left United three points shy of fifth-placed Tottenham with a game less to play.

Fifth place is likely to be sufficient to qualify for the Uefa Champions League but businessman Ratcliffe has made it clear that he expects United to be challenging higher up the table, having spent more than £1 billion on a 27.3% stake to oversee a team which had a dismal first half of the campaign, leading to scrutiny of Ten Hag’s position.

“A lot of effort is [going] in today,” said Ten Hag. “But we also look forward to longer term. About future? I know the future.

“But also, I have to look at today and we have to work on the team’s development and progress and, of course, to win every game. That is what we are doing.”

United’s Antony ‘resilient’

United have lost 10 of their 26 top-flight matches this season and crashed out of the Champions League by finishing bottom of their group.

Part of Ratcliffe’s vision will be to end United’s reputation as a lavishly wasteful club in the transfer market, and Antony is seen as one of the players symbolising their inability to match performances with sky-high spending.

The Brazil international became one of Ten Hag’s first signings when he followed the Dutchman to the 20-time Premier League winners from Ajax in September 2022 but is without a goal involvement in 20 league matches this season.

“I’ve backed him for a long time,” Ten Hag said of the 24-year-old, whose minute on the pitch against Fulham was one of 24 he has participated in during United’s last four Premier League matches in a season when he also did not have a goal involvement in four Champions League outings.

“I know his abilities, great abilities, I know from the past he is unstoppable. No defender can stop him because he’s one of the quickest in the first 10 yards.

“When he plays that game, I’m sure he will perform. He is resilient, he is a character and he will fight back. I back him and he now has to wait for his chance. Once he is there, he has to pick up.”

United are away to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday, when Casemiro will return from a head injury which forced him off during the second half against the Cottagers.

“It was a bleeding, so he had to come off,” said Ten Hag. “It was definitely not to our advantage that he couldn’t continue the game but he is available.”

Manchester United: Ten Hag bites back at ‘subjective’ Carragher after MNF criticism

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has dismissed criticism from Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher and accused the former Liverpool defender of a lack of objectivity.

Carragher, along with former Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy, offered a scathing assessment of United’s defending in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham on Sky’s Monday Night Football.

They highlighted United’s openness in and out of possession, also suggesting they were employing a high press, low block tactic that both Carragher and Clichy felt was impossible to execute.

In response, Ten Hag said Carragher may have had a point initially but suggested he had been overly critical.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth-round trip to Nottingham Forest, the Dutchman said: “Some analysts are very objective and some are very subjective. Jamie Carragher, from the first moment, has criticised and now he wants to make his point.

“Probably in the first half an hour he had a point, Fulham’s midfield set up surprised us and we had to find solutions and after half an hour we found them.

“I wasn’t pleased with the performance in defending, especially on the left. Fulham came out several times on the left side. That has a lot to do with willingness and passion.

“In previous weeks it was there from this team and therefore we won games. Footballers aren’t robots and sometimes they have bad days.

“But it can’t be, it’s unacceptable, we have to do better tomorrow but in the weeks before we have done very well. It can’t happen when they have a throw-in in the corner. How we managed it as a team is no good.”

Loftie-Eaton ‘wanted to cry’ after hitting fastest T20 international century off 33 balls for Namibia

Rcord-breaker Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton said he “wanted to cry” when the 22-year-old hit the fastest T20 international century ever off 33 balls for Namibia against Nepal.

Left-handed batsman Loftie-Eaton beat the record held by Nepal’s Kushal Malla, who featured in the match, by one ball, helped by 11 fours and eight sixes.

“It’s a very special feeling,” said Loftie-Eaton. “I’ve owed this to the team for quite a while now and it finally came off.

“In the 17th over, I thought to myself ‘okay, there are about 20 balls left’. I think I realised then that I was still on for 100. Some guys came up afterwards and told me that it’s the fastest.”

Having set a target of 207, Namibia bowled Nepal out for 186, including figures of 2-29 from Loftie-Eaton in Kirtipur.

Fastest T20 century: International record broken

Loftie-Eaton fell for 101 off 36 deliveries, and his memorable part in Namibia’s win made him tearful.

“It was pure emotion and happiness – I wanted to cry, actually,” said the member of Namibia’s 2021 T20 World Cup squad.

“It’s a good feeling, especially given the win as well. I didn’t think about it too much.

“I’m not a big guy on landmarks, as long as I can contribute to the team’s performance.

“Landmarks aren’t always going to help you win games.”

West Indies’ Chris Gayle retains the record he reached for the fastest century in all T20 cricket in 2013.

Three men jailed for attempted murder of 16-year-old boy

Three men have each been jailed for 32 years after being found guilty of attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy.

At Manchester Crown Court yesterday, a judge ordered Aiden Broadhurst (29) (pictured left) of Manchester Road, Salford; Kyle Meighan (31) of Chancel Avenue, Ordsall; and Jieh Sufyaan (25) (pictured right) of Pyrus Close, Eccles, to all serve 32 years behind bars.

Each offender also received an additional three years each on licence following the two-month trial.

The court heard how a 16-year-old boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – was riding his motorbike through Eccles on the afternoon of Sunday, March 19, 2023.

On sight of the motorbike being ridden, an immediate assembly for a targeted attack was organised between those sentenced.

The boy was joined on his motorbike by his girlfriend at a local convenience store and the pair made their way onto Station Road towards Armitage Street.

CCTV shows they were closely followed by the suspect motorbike, tracing the route the boy had taken, and pulling alongside them.

Seconds later, two gunshots were heard. The 16-year-old boy sustained a single gunshot wound which went through his arm and into his chest.

Following treatment for the injury in hospital, thankfully he was discharged a couple of days later to recover at home.

The police investigation into the attempted murder – Operation Knott – was led by GMP’s Serious Crime Division, in conjunction with Salford district policing teams, and involved painstaking work to determine the events of that day and to subsequently apprehend the suspects.

Detective chief inspector Neil Higginson said: “We hope that today’s result will go some way to allowing the victim to heal and move on with his life.

“Every single officer who took part in this investigation is committed to keeping people who live within the local community, safe. It is simply unacceptable to have people carrying guns and using these, and we will make it our life’s work to ensure that these kinds of people are taken off the streets.

“We would also like to thank the community of Salford; their ongoing support ensures we can tackle crime together and keep people of Manchester safe.”

Greater Manchester Police continues to encourage members of local communities to engage and report any incidents to the police, which can be done by calling 101 or by visiting the website, www.gmp.police.uk

Radio 1’s Mollie King swaps mic for bike this Red Nose Day

Radio 1’s Mollie King is preparing for the biggest challenge of her life, as she swaps mic for bike in aid of Red Nose Day.

The Saturdays singer will take on a staggering solo 500km cycle across England to raise money for Comic Relief.

Mollie King’s Pedal Power for Red Nose Day on Radio 1 will see the presenter take to the saddle for five exhausting days as she attempts to cycle from London to her late father’s hometown of Hull.

The challenge kicks off on Monday, March 11 during the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James.

She will be joined by her co-host Matt Edmondson, friends, and family as she departs from central London and begins her mammoth journey north.

The week ahead will see Mollie pedal through the streets of Towcester, Burton-upon-Trent, Manchester and Leeds as she battles both physically and mentally to reach the finish line.

For someone who has never ridden a bike on the road, it’s certainly not going to be an easy ride.

Mollie’s stamina, spirit and strength will be tested like never before as she tackles the unpredictable great British weather while navigating winding country roads, and busy city centres.

She will pass through villages, towns and cities where Comic Relief funded projects are providing essential support to people who need it most.

Motivate Mollie

The whole of Radio 1 will be getting behind Mollie throughout the week, offering lots of support and keeping her motivated with messages of encouragement from listeners. Mollie will also be joined along the route by special guests. Radio 1 listeners can also contribute to special surprises to help Mollie keep pushing on when it’s getting tough and raise as much money as possible for Red Nose Day.

Mollie said: “I can’t believe I’m going to be taking on this incredible challenge. The closer the start date gets the more daunting it’s becoming. I’ve been training for the last few weeks on an exercise bike and learning how to cycle on the road too, it’s been an incredibly steep learning curve. I haven’t been able to exercise much since having my daughter, a year ago, so even getting back into the training is pushing me harder than I thought it would!

“I know the wonderful support from our fantastic Radio 1 listeners and my fellow presenters is definitely going to give me a boost when I’m feeling absolutely exhausted. I know they’ll keep me going and I’ll be constantly thinking of the finish line in Hull, which was such an important place to me and my dad. I know that he would be immensely proud that I am doing this for such a great cause.

“I’m going to give it absolutely everything and do my best for Comic Relief and the brilliant projects they support across the UK and around the world.”

Matt Edmondson, Radio 1 presenter and Mollie’s co-host said: “Mollie is my best friend in the whole world, and one of the most strong and determined people I’ve ever met.

“This challenge would push absolutely anyone beyond breaking point, so I’m in awe of her courage and ridiculously grateful that she’ll have all of the Radio 1 listeners supporting her through the literal highs and lows of this epic challenge. I’ll be there too, reporting back on her progress, cheering her on and making bad jokes to try and distract her from the pain!”

Aled Haydn-Jones, head of BBC Radio 1 said he thought Mollie would “smash” the challenge.

Manchester resilience researchers awarded £4.2 million to help build ‘secure world’

Manchester’s researchers are on a mission to tackle some of the UK’s most challenging resilience and security problems.

Backed by a £4.2 million funding award from UK Research and Innovation’s building a secure and resilient world strategic theme, the university team will drive a Research and Coordination Hub in confronting pressing risks and threats both online and in the world around us.

Led by Dr Richard Kirkham, deputy director of the Thomas Ashton Institute for Risk and Regulatory Research at The University of Manchester, the project known as SALIENT (Secure And ResiLIENT), will bring Manchester academics together with partners from the universities of Bath, Exeter and Sussex, to catalyse, convene and conduct research and innovation in support of the UK’s national security and resilience.

SALIENT will drive interdisciplinary research to tackle some of the UK’s most challenging security problems. Their focus will be on robust and secure supply chains, global order in a time of change, technologies used for security and defence, behavioural and cultural resilience, and strengthening resilience in our natural and built environments.

Dr Kirkham said: “With SALIENT we’re aiming to enhance security across our virtual and physical environments, and strengthen the country’s societal and economic resilience, by improving awareness around the key risks and threats we might be facing, and informing UK decision-making and preparedness. Ultimately, we’re working towards change being understood as a force for good.

“SALIENT will adopt a human-centred systems approach through a portfolio of devolved funded activity. To achieve this, we particularly encourage research proposals that promote the arts and humanities in the national conversation on resilience.”

This ambitious five-year investment, following a highly competitive selection process, will enable the SALIENT team to build strong connections across a broad group of stakeholders in central and local government, the devolved administrations and crucially, the public.”

Dr Kirkham added: “Our approach will promote a culture of genuine interdisciplinarity, co-production and citizen engagement, ensuring that the research we do is relevant, timely and represents value for money.”

Oldham shoppers receive ultra-rapid charging hub at retail park

Oldham’s Gateway Centre can now offer an ultra-rapid charging hub, in a £1 million deal with Manchester-based EV charging network Be.EV.

Switched on and ready for use, the site is home to 16 ultra-rapid charging bays, making it one of the largest ultra-rapid EV charging locations in Greater Manchester.

Customers can benefit from a smooth and convenient charging experience while browsing the shops that are within a one minute walk, including Aldi.

Drivers can also monitor their charge level from their mobile whilst doing their shopping through a QR code.

The retail park sees an average of 27,000 cars pass by every day, and with only six other ultra-rapid EV chargers within two miles of the site, the charging hub will be a welcome addition for commuters travelling through Greater Manchester.

Currently the local community only has access to 25 EV chargers, meaning the 120,000 Oldham residents will also benefit from the charging site’s convenient location just off Chadderton Way and less than a mile from the city centre.

The 70,000 square foot site is equipped with cutting-edge Kempower chargers that feature unique load balancing abilities, ensuring that drivers get the power they need.

Kempower’s chargers can intelligently distribute energy supply between vehicles according to capacity and demand – meaning if one car reaches the maximum amount of power on one charger, any residual energy supply can be reassigned to another vehicle connected on-site.

The technology, commissioned and maintained by Vital EV, is capable of delivering up to 150kW – fast enough to add 125 miles of range in a 15 minute stop. 1.2MW of power being delivered across the 16 charging bays.

Be.EV’s partnership with the Gateway Centre increases the number of ultra-rapid charging bays in Oldham by 38%.

The chargers will be powered by renewable energy from Octopus Energy, ensuring the move to a totally green transport system is achieved.

Neil Wagner: ‘Emotional’ New Zealand bowler announces retirement from international cricket

New Zealand left-arm seamer Neil Wagner has tearfully announced his retirement from international cricket, calling his decision “not easy” after taking 264 wickets in 64 Tests.

A member of the Black Caps side who triumphed at the inaugural World Test Championship, Wagner made his decision after missing out on a starting place for the first Test against Australia, which starts on Thursday in Christchurch.

“It’s been an emotional week,” said the 37-year-old, who averaged 27.57 and made his debut in 2012.

“It’s not easy to step away from something you’ve given so much to and got so much out of, but it’s now time for others to step up and take this team forward.

“I’m looking forward to one final week in camp and will be doing everything I can to help prepare and support the boys.”

South Africa-born Wagner moved to New Zealand in 2008 to pursue a Test career which included the dismissal of James Anderson to level the Kiwis’ series against England in Wellington in 2023.

“To the New Zealand public and the fans, I can’t thank you enough for your support, for making me feel welcome, for making me feel like a Kiwi,” he said.

Wagner New Zealand stats ‘phenomenal’

Only Sir Richard Hadlee, with 50.8, has a better strike rate than Wagner’s 52.7 among New Zealand players to have collected more than 100 Test wickets.

“Neil’s numbers are phenomenal but I don’t think we can underestimate his contributions to the team when the chips were down and he found a way to create a wicket,” said New Zealand coach Gary Stead.

“His accuracy, execution and tenacity has been instrumental in many of our great Test victories and he will always be remembered for his lion-hearted nature.”

Test captain Tim Southee, who earlier this month played down suggestions that Wagner’s frustrations had boiled over when he was made to wait to bowl during a Test victory over South Africa, reiterated his admiration for his team-mate’s expressive passion.

“You always knew what you were going to get with Neil,” said Southee. “And that was 100% commitment to the cause.”

Manchester City: Guardiola demands more from Grealish ahead of Luton test

Pep Guardiola has challenged Jack Grealish to improve his performances if he wants to get back in Manchester City’s starting line-up.

The England international has started just seven Premier League games this term – the last of which came against Sheffield United on December 30 – after being a mainstay of their treble triumph last season.

Guardiola was candid in admitting he wants more from his £100million signing from Aston Villa.

He said: “He is the same player, he has the same manager, and the way we play has not changed.

“It’s just the way he has performed. That’s the difference.

“I said from day one, we need him. He has a special quality for our team. But it depends on him. Hopefully he can do a good last three months.”

City go to Luton tonight in the fifth round of the FA Cup with Guardiola ruling out making wholesale changes just to give players time to find their rhythm ahead of the season run-in.

“I cannot give players three or four games to get their rhythm,” insisted the former Barcelona boss.

“They have to find the rhythm to play for 20 minutes or 90.

“At a high level, the team don’t wait to be fit. You cannot give someone three or four games to be fit. What about the 10 who don’t play? They deserve not to play?

“You have to see the training sessions and all the small details. The players don’t have to convince me. They have to convince themselves that they deserve to play.”

Another player whose future appears unclear is key midfielder Kevin De Bruyne with reports teams in Saudi Arabia are looking to take him to the Pro League in the summer.

Guardiola hopes the 32-year-old, who has a contract at the Etihad until 2025, will stay but he admits it will come down to the player’s wishes.

He said: “It’s a question for him, I’d love him to stay but I don’t know.

“I heard some links but I don’t know if there’s an offer, I don’t know if Saudi Arabia wants him. I would love him to stay until the end of his career, but everyone is everyone.”
