0

Manchester is a city that’s well known for its style, especially when it comes to men’s fashion. There are a lot of fashion trends that come and go in Manchester, but some – including men’s chains, pendants and streetwear – are certainly here to stay.

Understanding Manchester’s love of fashion

Men’s fashion in Manchester is constantly evolving, and there’s always a new trend hitting the high street.

Fashion in Manchester reflects the city’s energy and eclectic culture, and it quickly solidified itself as a hub of fashion in the UK. Manchester consistently sets trends and pushes the boundaries of style, from edgy streetwear to the sleek, tailored looks. Manchester’s fashion isn’t centred on a ‘one size fits all’ style. It’s a city that encourages men to express themselves with what they wear and how they wear it.

There’s a lot of things that influence Manchester’s fashion landscape, which is why it’s often a lot more diverse and dynamic than other areas. It’s influenced by its musical heritage, artistic communities and talented designers, all of which ensures that trends are fresh, forward thinking and ahead of the curve.

As new styles emerge and old ones are reinvented, Manchester remains at the forefront of the fashion world. It’s a city that celebrates individuality and creativity in every look.

The Manchester men’s fashion trends everyone’s talking about

There are a lot of popular fashion trends in Manchester at the moment, but here are the ones that everyone’s talking about.

  • Bold graphics and oversized logos – Streetwear has firmly established itself as a key part of Manchester’s fashion scene, and this includes graphics and logos. With a balance of comfort and style, bold graphics and oversized logos can be seen everywhere you go in the city, reflecting the youthful and energetic vibe of the urban culture. This trend is more than just trendy clothing, but a way for people to express their identity and attitude. Brands such as representclo have really cemented themselves in this scene in Manchester, and continue to thrive.
  • Minimalist men’s chains – There’s a big focus on men’s jewellery in Manchester, with simple and minimalist chains becoming incredibly popular. This style of chain offers a sleek and stylish addition that complements an outfit, adding a subtle yet impactful detail. Some men choose to wear a minimalist chain alone, for a clean and simple look, whereas others choose to layer multiple chains together for added detail. Retailers like thruthenightjewellery.com really showcase the common types of chains you see out and about in Manchester.
  • Layering, mixing and matching – A lot of men in Manchester combine hoodies, jackets, tees and accessories in unique ways to create a personalised look. Mixing and matching different textures and styles, such as pairing a chic jacket with a casual tee, creates an eye catching and memorable outfit. It’s a way to create an outfit that’s completely unique and curated, whilst also having layers to add and remove if the weather changes.
  • Statement pendants – Men’s pendants have made a big comeback in recent years, with designs ranging from religious symbols to personalised initials, and even abstract art pieces. Statement pendants add a focal point to an outfit, drawing attention and showcasing personal style.
  • Oversized and relaxed fits – Comfort is key when it comes to men’s fashion trends in Manchester. Oversized and relaxed fits dominate the scene, and this includes baggy jeans, loose fitting hoodies and wide legged trousers. This trend not only looks cool and contemporary, but is also perfect for unpredictable weather and bustling city life. It’s a way to be comfortable, whilst also showing that thought has been put into the outfit.
  • Layering necklaces – Layering isn’t just for clothing and it’s actually a key trend in jewellery as well. Combining different lengths, styles and designs of chains and necklaces creates an interesting, textured look. This allows for mixing and matching different metals and designs, adding depth and interest to any outfit. Plus, there’s no shortage of combinations when you’re layering necklaces.
  • Classic trainers – Manchester’s men are focusing their attention on classic trainers at the moment, sporting classic styles from the likes of Nike and Adidas. Limited edition releases and collaborations are also highly sought after, with many men making their trainers the focal point of their outfit, a way to stand out and make a statement.

Whether you’re walking through the bustling streets of the Northern Quarter or heading out for a night in Deansgate, these men’s fashion trends will ensure that you look stylish and on trend in Manchester.

Getting your Manchester garden summer ready

Summer is fast approaching, and now is the perfect time to prepare your Manchester garden for the warm and sunny days ahead.

With a little time and effort, you can create an inviting outdoor space that’s perfect for relaxing, al fresco dining, entertaining friends and family, and enjoying the beauty of spending time outdoors.

How to get your Manchester garden summer ready

  • Assess and clean your garden – It’s a good idea to start by taking a good look at your garden, to determine what work needs to be done. Assess the overall condition of the space and identify areas that need attention. Remove any debris, fallen leaves and dead plants, and prune back anything that has overgrown to encourage everything to grow throughout the summer. This will also improve the appearance of your garden. Once you have assessed and cleaned your garden, you’ll have a blank canvas for your summer garden plans.
  • Ensure your soil is healthy – There’s no denying that healthy soil is the key to a thriving garden, so don’t forget to test your soil to determine its nutrient content. You might need to add compost or organic matter to improve the soil, fertility and drainage. You might also need to incorporate a fertiliser to provide nutrients for your plants, which supports plant growth and blooms throughout the summer.
  • Improve your outdoor living space – Your garden is an extension of your living space, so make it a welcoming space for relaxation and entertainment. Clean and arrange outdoor furniture, ensuring it’s in good condition, and add cushions, blankets and outdoor rugs to create a cosy place to unwind. Consider installing a patio or deck area if you don’t have one, or update your existing space with fresh decor and lighting.
  • Plan your summer planting – There are a variety of plants that will flourish in Manchester’s summer climate. Consider planting a mix of perennials, annuals and flowering shrubs to create a visually appealing garden, but one that also continually blooms. Popular summer plants for gardens in Manchester include lavender, roses, petunias and geraniums. These will add a lot of bright and bold colour to your space.
  • Refresh your lawn – A lush, green lawn is the centrepiece of any garden, and it can transform a standard garden into a space to be proud of. Mow your lawn regularly to maintain an even height, and aerate it to improve air circulation and water penetration. If there are any bare patches, reseed and water them consistently until the grass establishes.
  • Install or upgrade your irrigation system – A reliable irrigation system is key for maintaining a healthy garden during the warm months. Don’t forget to inspect your existing system for leaks, blockages or damage, and make any necessary repairs before you kickstart your summer garden. If you don’t have an irrigation system, consider installing one to ensure your plants receive consistent and adequate water. Drip irrigation systems and soaker hoses are efficient options that minimise water waste, whilst also delivering moisture directly to the roots. Set your irrigation system on a timer to maintain a regular watering schedule, especially during dry spells.
  • Get weeds and mulch under control – When you are getting your Manchester garden summer ready, make sure to add a layer of mulch around your plants to help retain moisture, suppress weeds and regulate the soil temperature. Organic mulches like bark chips, straw or compost are excellent choices, and they also enrich the soil as they decompose. Don’t forget to regularly check for weeds and remove them as soon as possible to prevent competition for nutrients and water.
  • Add personal touches – Of course, it’s important that your garden reflects your personal style and taste, so add personal touches as you go. You can personalise your garden with unique elements that reflect your style and interests, really transforming it into a unique outdoor space. Add garden ornaments, sculptures or a water feature to create focal points, or incorporate colourful pots and planters to brighten up the area. You could even appeal to the senses with fragrant herbs, textured plants, wind chimes or bubbling fountains.

Though there are a handful of things that go into getting your Manchester garden summer ready, it doesn’t need to be a time consuming or daunting task. Small changes – such as adding some colourful pots, creating a comfortable seating area and adding an irrigation system – can make a big difference.

Among the most critical components is catering, which can significantly impact the overall impression of your event. Whether you’re organizing a small meeting or a large conference, this will help you navigate the complexities of ordering catering for an event, large or small.

Crafting the Perfect Menu: Food Selections for Every Occasion

Selecting the right menu for your event is crucial in making a lasting impression. Here are some recommendations for various event sizes:

– Small Meetings (10-20 attendees): Go for light and easy-to-eat items such as sandwich platters , wraps, salads, and a selection of fresh fruits.

Include a variety of beverages, such as coffee, tea, and juices.

– Medium Events (20-50 attendees): A buffet-style setup works well, offering a mix of cold dishes. Try and incorporate good protein options like chicken, fish, and vegetarian dishes, accompanied by side salads, breads, and desserts.

– Large Conferences (50+ attendees): A mix of stations or tables can provide variety and cater to diverse tastes without creating a bottleneck. Remember to go wide with your selection, to as it’s likely you’ll have lots of different tastes and diets to accomodate.

Inclusivity Through Dietary Choices

Ensuring your menu is inclusive and meets everyone’s dietary requirements is essential for a successful event. Here are some best practices:

– Survey Attendees: Collect dietary restrictions and preferences in advance via registration forms or email surveys.

– Offer Variety: Include vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free options in your menu.

– Clearly Label: Ensure all food items are clearly labeled with ingredients and potential allergens.

– Consult Experts: Work with your caterer to accommodate specific needs and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Choosing the Right Catering Partner

Choosing a reliable caterer is fundamental to your event’s success.

Be sure to consider:

– Reputation and Reviews: Research potential caterers by reading reviews and testimonials. Seek recommendations from other businesses.

– Experience: Choose a caterer with experience in corporate events of a similar scale and nature. Corporate catering differs from private catering and requires a different skill set.

– Flexibility: Ensure the caterer can adapt to your specific needs and handle last-minute changes.

– Quality and Presentation: Schedule a tasting session to assess the quality and presentation of the food.

– Sustainability Practices: Select a caterer committed to environmentally sustainable practices.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure every event is a success. Remember, thoughtful planning and a focus on quality, inclusivity, and sustainability will leave a lasting positive impression on your guests, reflecting well on your company’s values and commitment to excellence.
