Gordan Strachan has discussed Marcus Rashford’s future and what a return to Manchester United from Barcelona would mean for Michael Carrick.
The former Reds man told Andy’s Bet Club: “I think Marcus Rashford should move on now. He’s had his chance for the last 10 years to be a top Manchester United player and he didn’t look to be enjoying it.
“I think sometimes in life you’ve got to go, ‘Right, okay, that’s enough.’ And that’s not just for Manchester United’s point of view, but for the player. Sometimes a change is best for you.
“Sometimes change is best for you and can be best for both parties. I think for both parties it’s best that Marcus moves on and does something else because he’ll always be thought of as a guy who had a good season a couple of years ago.
“At Barcelona, he hasn’t been a guaranteed starter, but at Man United I think it would become a distraction. Carrick would be asked why he’s not playing all the time. I think this is the right time to move on.”
