Simon Hooper not being stood down over Manchester City-Tottenham advantage controversy

Referee Simon Hooper will not be stood down from Premier League duties this week after his controversial decision to deny Manchester City a late advantage in Sunday’s draw with Tottenham.

City’s players and coaching staff were infuriated when, in stoppage time at the end of Sunday’s remarkable 3-3 draw, Hooper whistled for a free-kick when Jack Grealish appeared to be through on goal.

Hooper initially played advantage as Erling Haaland got back to his feet following a foul from Emerson Royal, only to give the free-kick when Grealish received a throughball from the striker.

Haaland was one of several City players to surround Hooper and furiously protest the decision, and the striker could face disciplinary action after being pictured screaming at the official before storming down the tunnel after the full-time whistle was blown.

Haaland subsequently criticised the decision on X, formerly known as Twitter, quoting a video of the incident with the caption: “Wtf”.

Hooper has already been stood down from Premier League duties once this season, after failing to award Wolves a penalty in their 1-0 defeat at Manchester United despite Andre Onana committing a clear foul on Sasa Kalajdzic in stoppage time.

Refereeing body Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) subsequently apologised to Wolves for that decision, but they have reportedly accepted that Sunday’s call was a human error and decided against any further action.

As a result, Hooper will take charge of Sheffield United’s clash with Liverpool on Wednesday as planned.

Pep Guardiola refused to be drawn on the incident after the game, instead taking a swipe at Mikel Arteta’s decision to criticise officiating standards after Arsenal’s defeat to Newcastle United last month.

When asked about the incident by Sky Sports, the City boss said: “Next question. I will not do a Mikel Arteta comment.”

Former City defender Micah Richards, speaking in his role as a Sky Sports pundit, said: “The problem I have is that we’ve had so many situations where play is allowed to go on.

“If you’re in doubt, just leave the play to go on and you can always bring it back. That’s why City will feel aggrieved.”

Tragic discovery as ‘homeless’ man found lifeless in doorway

A man believed to be homeless was discovered lifeless in a doorway along Bloom Street in Manchester’s Gay Village.

The tragedy unfolded at 10.20am on Sunday, when passersby alerted the response of police and emergency services.

The man, who was recognised locally, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police.

Authorities have clarified that the death is not deemed suspicious, and as of now, the cause of death remains undetermined.

Ongoing investigations, described as being in their early stages, are actively being pursued by the police.

The incident occurred as the first winter snow fell over night on Saturday, with freezing temperatures forecast by the Met Office.

A police forensic tent was erected on Bloom Street, spanning the road and pavement, with officers maintaining a vigilant presence.

A police cordon was established, extending across the road to the opposite car park. The specific location where the man was discovered was identified as the area between the Village Chippy and Roadie’s fast-food takeaway, adjacent to the taxi rank.

Greater Manchester Police is now compiling a file of evidence for the coroner’s office in Manchester.

Neville ‘bored and tired’ of watching Manchester United

Gary Neville says he is “bored and tired of watching Manchester United” after another dismal display at the weekend.

United lost 1-0 at Newcastle on Saturday night and delivered a performance that has drawn widespread criticism for lacking energy and application.

Erik ten Hag’s side sit seventh in the Premier League and face a fight to return to the Champions League for next season. And with Jim Ratcliffe yet to formally acquire his 25 per cent stake in the club, it appears United will remain in a state of paralysis for some time.

Neville has seemingly had enough, telling his Sky Sports Podcast: “I have become tired of my own club. I don’t want to do their games [punditry/commentary] anymore, I don’t want to watch their games anymore and that is the saddest indictment that you can have of your football club when you become bored of watching them, when you become tired of watching them.

“It is not just me, a couple of people in the last couple of weeks have said, ‘Enough’s enough’. The daft thing is, on Wednesday night [vs Chelsea] I will build my whole Wednesday night around watching Manchester United.

“That’s life, we go and watch them again, don’t we? But that is how I feel: I feel tired of watching them. That is a sad position to be in.”

Things could get worse before they get better for Neville and United. After facing Chelsea on Wednesday and Bournemouth on Saturday, they face Bayern Munich – a game they have to win to stand any chance of advancing to the knockout stages – before a trip to Anfield to face old foes Liverpool on December 17.

Neville added: “I love that club and I love the excitement of football, but I am already fearing what is going to happen at Anfield in two weeks’, just purely because I think it could be a mess.

“I am already fearing what is going to happen on Wednesday night against Chelsea because it could be a mess.

“It’s really disappointing, and I feel like the noise against the manager is starting to occur.

“There are then those same noises that say, ‘surely we can’t get rid of another manager, we’ve got to get rid of the players because they are the ones who have got rid of the other managers’.

Body found following fire at Bolton restaurant

0

On Saturday, human remains were found during a search of the Lime Tree restaurant and takeaway on Bolton Road in Farnworth.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service had been called to reports of the fire at 1pm last Monday.

Five fire engines, including mobilised specialist units were utilised. Bolton Road was closed throughout that afternoon at the junction near St Peter’s Way and Gladstone Road.

Since then, efforts had been ongoing to ensure the building was safe and ascertain the cause.

Early indications

It is now believed that the fire originated on the first floor of the building. Early indications suggest it may have been used as a cannabis farm.

Detective chief inspector Andrew Naismith of GMP Major Incident Team said: “Work is ongoing to identify the deceased and we are committed to ensuring the potential family members are fully supported and informed of updates in this investigation.

“The loss of life is a tragedy and I understand the upset this news will cause in the local community. I can assure you on behalf of the investigation team that we are determined to get to the bottom of what has occurred and establish the circumstances surrounding the fire.

“I can confirm this fire is being treated as suspicious and if there is any criminal responsibility, it will be brought to light and dealt with appropriately. We are particularly interested to hear from anyone who knows how this building was being used in the lead up to November 27.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone with information about the fire itself – including if you have any footage (such as CCTV, mobile or dashcam) – to contact GMP’s Major Incident Team.”

The public can report any information to 0161 856 1995 quoting log number 1485 of 27/11/2023 or via the reporting function on GMP’s website: www.gmp.police.uk

WATCH: Keys gives verdict on next Manchester United boss

Richard Keys has delivered his masterplan on how to resuscitate Manchester United.

The former Sky Sports host, who now works for beIN Sports in Qatar, has long been a critic of current United boss Erik ten Hag and it comes as no surprise to hear he would dispense with the Dutchman.

Keys’ replacement did raise a few eyebrows in the studio, however, with Xabi Alonso the name he put forward.

Having learned the managerial ropes at Real Sociedad B, Alonso moved to Bayer Leverkusen and now has them sitting at the top of the Bundesliga as the only unbeaten club across Europe’s top five leagues.

Despite Keys’ endorsement, former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer felt ex-Anfield hero Alonso would not want to take on the job at Old Trafford.

United are seventh in the Premier League table following Saturday’s dismal 1-0 defeat at Newcastle.

  1. Protection from unexpected debts resulting from identity theft.
  2. Preservation of one’s financial reputation.

Background check websites provide a shield against these financial risks, offering peace of mind and contributing to a more secure financial future.

SERGEY YOUNG INVITES EVERYONE TO EMBRACE HIS PATH TO ULTIMATE LONGEVITY

0

Sergey Young, the founder of the Longevity Vision Fund, is not only a successful entrepreneur and longevity advocate, but he also contends that everyone has the potential to live a meaningful life for at least 130 years. To support this bold claim, he has devised a practical guide of daily habits, which he rigorously tests on himself as a responsible scientist.

Sergey Young goes beyond supplements to offer a comprehensive approach

For Sergey Young, extending human life well beyond current norms is not just a scientific or business objective; it involves practical principles accessible to everyone. Young views lifestyle choices as crucial for longevity, alongside the supplements developed by his companies.

Importantly, this approach is a universal solution that anyone can implement immediately, without waiting for groundbreaking supplements or advanced technologies.

Sergey Young introduces nothing entirely new to the lifestyle market. Instead, he advocates for the innovative application of established practices such as yoga, meditation, intermittent fasting, and other techniques. Furthermore, as the founder of the Longevity Vision Fund, he encourages individuals to take charge of their health by using monitoring devices like the Apple Watch, Oura Ring, Aktia blood pressure tonometer, among others–tools he has passionately utilized for years.

The key distinction in Sergey Young’s approach lies in his belief that a longer life should not merely add more years to a person’s existence but should involve engaging in activities traditionally associated with a younger generation. According to Young, prolonging human life must contribute additional value to it, both practically and ethically.

Embracing Sergey Young’s Approach

Sergey Young’s approach underscores the importance of combining biotechnology, pharmaceutical tools, and lifestyle choices. Only the measured integration of these elements can enhance not only the quantity but also the quality of human life.

As Sergey himself articulates, longevity “is not just about technology; it’s about changing the very fabric of how we approach well-being and aging.”

The visionary’s advice is straightforward, requiring no special training or extraordinary efforts. It includes basic rules that positively impact metabolism, improve nutritional patterns, and enhance immune functions, such as:

– Cultivating healthy dietary habits

– Using the right supplements

– Limiting caloric intake

– Maintaining a positive emotional state

– Regular self-checks of health conditions

These principles are applicable to individuals of any race, age, gender, social, or financial status, aligning with the Longevity Vision Fund’s mission of making longevity accessible to all.

Sergey Young’s DIY approach to longevity

This holistic approach contributes to improving health conditions from a person’s outward appearance to the genetic level. It aids in addressing various DNA malfunctions that, if left unattended, lead to the aging and eventual death of the human body.

The supplements and techniques mentioned can also mitigate the severity or even prevent various gerontologic diseases, including but not limited to Alzheimer’s, heart diseases, and osteoporosis.

Sergey Young documented these principles in his global bestseller, “The Science and Technology of Growing Young,” translated into dozens of languages, with the latest edition in Hungarian released in October 2023. In his book, Young unveils the secrets to achieving longevity that is twice as long as the world’s average in 2023 (76 years for women and 71 years for men). The book has become a guide for the eight billion people currently living on our planet seeking a longer and healthier life.

Globally, regions are tackling this issue in diverse ways, each facing its own specific challenges. As alarming statistics emerge, services are being developed to offer solutions that are tailored to these distinct challenges.

Debt Relief and Identity Theft: An Overlooked Connection

The escalation of identity theft incidents has led to many individuals being encumbered with fraudulent debts. Criminals exploiting personal information to secure loans or make large purchases leave victims entangled in financial dilemmas.

3D Chess Media reports that numerous victims of identity theft face debts they did not accrue themselves. Consequently, there’s an increased demand for debt relief services specialised in handling identity theft cases.

Debt relief companies are now integrating ID protection strategies into their services. These approaches not only address immediate crises but also help in preventing future incidents, thereby safeguarding one’s financial security.

Regional Variations in Identity Theft

The differences in technology adoption, regulatory environments, and cultural practices have resulted in diverse identity theft trends across regions. Asia, with its rapid digital advancements, has seen a significant rise in identity theft incidents. In contrast, the European Union, with stringent GDPR laws, experiences fewer breaches but struggles with transnational identity theft issues.

In Africa, challenges lie in basic infrastructure, making ID protection essential yet hard to implement. Community-driven initiatives in these regions are playing a crucial role, offering localised solutions.

Adapting Services: The Evolution of ID Protection

In response to the growing threat of identity theft, global services are undergoing transformative changes. These are not merely reactive but increasingly proactive.

Many services now provide ongoing monitoring of personal data online. Recognising the unique challenges faced by different regions, ID protection services are customising their solutions.

For instance, in areas with high mobile usage but limited cybersecurity awareness, the focus is on mobile-based solutions and educational initiatives. In technologically advanced regions, the emphasis is on incorporating state-of-the-art technologies like AI for early threat detection.

Final Thoughts: Navigating the Future of Identity Protection

The changing dynamics of identity theft highlight the need for effective ID protection measures. As various regions adapt and innovate, the collective aim is to protect individual identities and ensure financial stability. Though challenges lie ahead, with ongoing innovation and collaboration, a more secure digital future is achievable.
