South Africa v India 3rd T20I – preview, expected line-ups, how to watch and prediction

The State of Play

It’s all to play for tomorrow but this has not been a great series. In fact, it’s barely been a series at all. The first game was washed out completely while yesterday’s 2nd T20I was also seriously impacted by the weather with South Africa eventually reaching their rain-affected target of 152 with seven balls remaining. Opener Reeza Hendricks was the star with an unbeaten 49 off 27 balls.

The main purpose of these matches was to size up potential inclusions for the T20 World Cup in the West Indies next year. Yet, very little will have been learned.

The forecast is much better for Johannesburg, however, so hopes are high for a pulsating game.

Team News

South Africa will be without all-rounder Gerald Coetzee and bowler Marco Jansen who have left the squad to prepare for the upcoming Test series. Nandre Burger and Donovan Ferreira are set to deputise.

Deepak Chahar remains in India tending to a personal matter so won’t play. India must choose between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill at the top of the order.

Expected line-ups

South Africa: Hendricks, Breetzke, Markam (c), Klaasen (wk), Miller, Stubbs, Ferreira, Phehlukwayo, Williams, Burger, Shamsi

India: Jaiswal, Gill, Varma, Yadav (c), R Singh, Sharma (wk), Jadeja, A Singh, Bishnoi, Siraj, Kumar

What they said

South Africa captain Aiden Markram on the impact made by Reeza Hendricks
“Hendricks has been fantastic. He’s adopted a bit of a leadership role in the batting. Ultimately you want to pick form players for the World Cup, so from the selection point of view, there might still be a few places up for grabs. That healthy competition means a lot for us.”

India great Sunil Gavaskar on bowler Ravi Bishnoi
“Ravi Bishnoi is still finding his feet at the international level. Yes, he is the number one T20 bowler in the world but again, if you get stuck into him, sometimes you tend to see him bowl faster and quicker. The faster you bowl on a good pitch, it gets that much easier for the batters because the pace is exactly what they are looking for.”

When and how to watch

The 3rd T20I takes place at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, starting at 3pm UK time. It can be watched on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket with the programme starting at 2.30pm.

Prediction

The absence of Coetzee and Jansen will weaken South Africa and expect India to take advantage. There are World Cup places up for grabs, and plenty of competition, so those with a shirt need to impress.

West Indies v England 2nd T20I – preview, expected line-ups, how to watch and prediction

The State of Play

England’s miserable recent run continued in the first T20I as the West Indies clinched a four-wicket win in Barbados. Having collapsed to 171 all out, England suffered as the big-hitting Windies cruised to their victory target with 11 balls to spare.
Their were some positives, spin duo Adil Rashid and Rehan Ahmed – two players at the opposite ends of the experience spectrum – worked well in tandem, taking five of the six West Indian wickets.
But the defeat continued England’s poor form since the start of the World Cup with Jos Buttler’s white-ball side having now lost nine of their last 13 games.

The West Indies didn’t even reach the World Cup but have looked the more composed team since England arrived in the Caribbean. They won the one-day international series 2-1 and have veteran all-rounder Andre Russell back in the side and in great form. Russell took three for 19 with the ball and hit an unbeaten 29 on Tuesday to help his side to victory.

Team News

England will likely go with a similar XI, although Reece Topley could get a chance to impress after seeing his World Cup campaign curtailed by a broken finger. Tymal Mills may be the man to miss out after struggling in Barbados.

The Windies are set to pick the same team. If it ain’t broke…

Expected line-ups

West Indies: King, Mayers, Hope, Pooran (wk), Hetmyer, Powell (c), Shepherd, Russell, Holder, Hosein, Joseph

England: Salt, Buttler (c, wk), Jacks, Duckett, Brook, Livingstone, Curran, Woakes, Ahmed, Rashid, Topley

What they said

England captain Jos Buttler reflecting on the first T20I
“They hit a lot of sixes as a team, that’s something that is a trademark of their side and we’ve got to find ways to limit that. Obviously, the swing in the game with sixes is so big.
“You’ve got to find ways to get it out the arc, try and find ways to take wickets as well, be aggressive and be committed. It’s a great test for us and we’ll find out lots over the next few games.”

Windies all-rounder Andre Russell on his return to the side and the potential to play on after next year’s T20 World Cup
“I still have a lot left in the tank, but based on discussions with the coach I told him that after the World Cup, I would walk away from international cricket.
“But if they need me, I will come out of retirement. If West Indies should still need me, I would be willing to put in the hard yards for them. I always want to play for West Indies.

When and how to watch

The 2nd T20I takes place on Thursday in Grenada at 1730 (UK time). You can watch it on TNT Sports with the programme starting at 1700.

Prediction

England still look lost following their woeful World Cup campaign in India. The balance of the team looks a little muddled while the Windies are happy to bludgeon away at England’s bowlers.
If their batters continue to connect, it will be another difficult night for the tourists.
West Indies to win.

Manchester United’s 7-0 humiliation at Liverpool will not be repeated – Saha

Louis Saha is confident Manchester United’s humiliation at Anfield last season will not be repeated on Sunday despite their current struggles.

United lost 7-0 to Liverpool in March with Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez each scoring twice.

And with Erik ten Hag’s side going into the game on the back of their European exit last night – they finished bottom of Champions League Group A after losing 1-0 at home to Bayern Munich – there is fear among the United support that another embarrassing defeat could be on the cards.

Former United striker Saha believes personal pride will prevent that happening.

He told Sky Sports News: “They will be motivated to not repeat this disaster. It was a humiliation.

“Anyone with determination should not allow this to happen again. When you lose a game like that you don’t have a solution straight away but you have the spirit and engagement to understand that it’s not going to happen again. You have to have that determination.”

Saha is even confident a trip to league leaders Liverpool will be a match to “enjoy” for United fans, adding: “Losing a game is something we can all accept but losing the game as they did last year was unacceptable so I don’t think this will be reproduced.

“I think it will be a game to watch and enjoy. It is up to them [United] to start well, have good energy levels and confidence to produce some challenges [for Liverpool], pose some questions for their defence.

“Liverpool, as with any team, have weaknesses and we need to show that.”

Bardsley says injuries a factor in Manchester United’s woes

Former Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley feels last night’s European exit highlights the fact the club has lost its way this season – but he says injuries have played a large part in that.

United finished bottom of Champions League Group A – failing to even reach the Europa League – after a 1-0 defeat at home to Bayern Munich.

Erik ten Hag’s men have lost 12 of 24 games this season in all competitions, as many as they did in 62 matches last year, but Bardsley highlighted an injury list that increased against Bayern with Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw both having to go off.

He told Sky Sports News: “Last year we finished in the top four and won a trophy so we were definitely going in the right direction.

“This year we have gone away from that. I don’t want to keep on about injuries but I do feel for him [Ten Hag]. I don’t think this season he’s had his full squad to choose from, there has always been issues in key areas in key moments of the season.”

Bardsley admitted, however, that some of the players signed under Ten Hag need to contribute more.

“Some of the players have not hit the heights,” he added. “Antony is one dimensional, we’re not seeing much of [Mason] Mount due to injury and [Rasmus] Hojlund, for all his endeavour and a lack of service that doesn’t help him…we need these players to start clicking into gear.

“They have been brought in for a reason and the expectation is to come in and hit the ground running.”

United finished bottom of their Champions League group for just the second time, and Bardsley, who played for United between 2003 and 2008, albeit spending much of it on loan elsewhere, was disappointed by their efforts.

“When the draw was made, you’d fancy your chances of qualifying,” he said of a group that also contained FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

“You can’t make mistakes at this level and we made far too many over too many games and we’ve been punished. I don’t think we were too bad last night, we huffed and puffed but I can only count one shot we had from our left-back in a game we needed to win.

“It was an honest performance. There wasn’t a lack of effort but there was certainly a lack of quality.”

It doesn’t get any easier for United, who visit Anfield to take on arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

“You’re playing against an outstanding side that have come into real good form, and have some outstanding footballers,” said Bardsley.

“They are top of the league. Them, City and Arsenal are the outstanding teams in the league and that’s what you aspire to be. You want United to be in the mix.

“We know how good Liverpool are and we will have to be at our very best.”

Driving Business Excellence: Mastering the Art of Procuring and Efficiently Managing Your Fleet of Company Cars

0

A fleet of company cars can be a tremendous asset to a modern business. If your business is built around transport and mobility, then the benefits can be even more substantial. But getting the best from such a fleet means following a few essential tips. A well-formulated strategy will help you to draw in the best possible employees, and to make them as productive and safe as possible. But what should such a strategy look like?

Choosing the right model

The cars you choose will matter enormously to your final results. You’ll want to make your selection according to a few distinct criteria. How many miles are your drivers going to be putting in, and what special features are going to be of value to them? What is fuel efficiency like, and how much will the car cost to maintain over the long term? How much cargo space is on offer, and are there any advanced safety features that will reduce the likelihood of a collision?

It’s a good idea to look around the major showrooms. If you’re going to be buying the same model in large quantities, then getting acquainted with it in person is going to confer a lot of value. Local car dealers in places such as Leeds can be valuable sources of inspiration.

The purpose of a company car

When you’re making your decision, one consideration should be considered fundamental: what is this car going to be used for? Unless you have a solid answer to this question, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to make the right decision for your purposes. If the car is going to be used for meetings with clients, then it should send the right message about your business. This is where prestigious luxury manufacturers tend to be favoured. If the car is purely going to be used for commuting, then other factors, like fuel efficiency, might be paramount.

Integrating business travel into your company practices

When it comes to travel, it’s best to have a clear policy. If there’s any ambiguity, then you can be reasonably sure that you’ll run into disputes with your employees. Have clear guidelines on how fuel expenses and mileage are going to be dealt with. You might also lean into new technologies that track mileage via GPS. This will help you to not only cut costs, but build a culture of employee responsibility.

Employee responsibilities and safety

Employees who drive company cars should be able to get the best from them. A little bit of training can go a long way. There might be new and unfamiliar features available in a given car, which your employee might not be familiar with. Make sure that all of your policies when it comes to safety, maintenance and accident reporting are outlined clearly, right from the start.

Navigating the Digital Frontier: Insider Tips on Selecting the Perfect Digital Marketing Agency for Your Success

0

Marketing in the digital world is fast paced and ever changing, meaning it’s incredibly important to choose the right marketing agency to help steer your business’s online presence in the best direction.

As of 2023, there are over 7,673 digital marketing agencies in the UK – up from 7,276 in 2022. And if you’re looking for a digital marketing agency in London, you’re bound to find a large percentage of these marketing agencies in the capital.

This growing number of agencies just goes to show how important and much needed digital marketing services are. It also means that choosing the right agency can be an incredibly overwhelming task. And every agency will surely be promising game changing results.

So how do you choose the right one? Not to worry, in this guide, we’ll walk you through what to look for when hiring digital marketing services.

Define Your Goals Beforehand

Before seeking the advice of a digital marketing agency, take time to ask yourself what you want to achieve with your business’ digital marketing. Will you be trying to increase awareness of your brand, get more visitors to your website, generate leads, or increase your sales?

By defining and understanding your goals and objectives, it can help you with your search for the right agency. You may be able to find an agency that specialises in your specific goal. Some excel in social media, while others specialise in SEO, PPC, or content marketing. Finding the right match will be ideal for getting the best results.

Research Agencies’ Track Record

Whether you have a specific goal and want to find a specialised agency, or your after more generalised marketing expertise, make sure to research and review any agencies that catch your eye.

They should have a portfolio of successful campaigns and case studies, found either on their website or social media.

But of course, they’ll only post things that make them look good, so search for their clients and see if the agency truly helped them, or if they’re still working with the agency.

You may be able to find unbiased recommendations on social media, perhaps a shout out on LinkedIn. There’re also testimonials on Google Reviews and Trustpilot, or even industry specific review sites if applicable. Positive and negative feedback can give you a balanced view of the agency’s strengths and weaknesses.

This research may also help to identify whether the agency has clients similar to you and has previous experience and knowledge in your industry.

Do I Need An Agency with Experience in My Industry?

As well as finding an agency that specialises in your specific goal, finding an agency that has prior experience in your industry can be valuable but is not always necessary. It all depends on your business and how unique or complex it is.

An agency that is familiar with your niche will be more likely to understand the nuances of your target audience, as well as have knowledge of your competition and marketing trends. This could give you a competitive edge.

Assess The Agency’s Communication and Transparency

You are entering a partnership with this agency, so assess their communication style and how transparent they are about strategies. These are things you should be able to pick up on in the early stages of your communication with them.

Ask how often they provide reports and updates and how they measure the success of your campaigns, including what tools they use. In fact, ask lots of questions, any agency worth your time should be open and willing to discuss things such as their methods and insights.

You can try an agency for a few weeks or months and see how well they adapt to your feedback and changing needs.

Consider Budget

Digital marketing services are an investment, so consider your budget in line with your goals. Discuss costs with potential agencies, but be wary of ones who promise too much at low costs. Quality comes at a price, so focus on value and avoid falling for the cheapest option.

Evaluate Their Creativity and Culture

Since technology, trends and social media is constantly evolving, you need an agency that is innovative, creative, keeps up to date and adapts to change. You can assess their creativity by looking at the way they brand themselves.

You should also research their company culture too, as this can be very important in your partnership. Things may not work out if you don’t share the same values and working style.

Finding The Right Partner

Choosing the right digital marketing agency can be difficult, but by taking your time with the right research, you’ll find a partnership that works for you.

Our emergency vets and nursing teams and all of our support teams work tirelessly over the busy festive season, to be there for worried owners when they need it most.”

“From festive food and drink to decorations and even gifts, our homes harbour a myriad of potential hazards for pets at Christmas, and our caseload rises significantly over the festive season.”

It’s estimated that around 43% of Manchester’s population own a pet, and the hospital is the key emergency and out-of-hours facility for treating these pets.

Festive faux pas

India skipper Sharma reveals World Cup heartbreak

India captain Rohit Sharma says it was hard to move on following the World Cup final defeat to Australia.

Sharma’s men had swept all before them, winning each of their 10 games, only to come unstuck in the final against a Travis Head-inspired Australia. Head smashed a brilliant 137 as Australia won by six wickets.

Since that point, Sharma has disappeared from public life but re-emerged on Wednesday to concede he had found the aftermath difficult to cope with.

Speaking on a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, he said: “It wasn’t easy to digest, but life moves on. You have to move on in life. But, honestly, it was tough. It was not so easy to just move on.

“I have always grown up watching 50-over World Cup, and to me, that was the ultimate prize. We have worked all these years for that World Cup, and it is disappointing? If you don’t get through it, and you don’t get what you want, what you’ve been looking for all this while, what you were dreaming of, you get disappointed, and you get frustrated as well at times.”

Sharma, who is sitting out the white-ball leg of the ongoing tour of South Africa but will return for the Test series, was proud of what his team achieved, however.

“I thought we did everything we could from our side,” he added.

“If someone asks me, what went wrong…because we won 10 games, and in those 10 games, yes, we made mistakes, but that mistakes happen in every game that you play. You cannot have a perfect game. You can have a near-perfect game. But you cannot have a perfect game.

“If I look on the other side of it, I’m really proud of the team as well. Because how we played was simply outstanding. You don’t get to perform like that every World Cup.”

Despite the heartbreaking defeat, Sharma has been encouraged by the support he has received and is now more determined than ever to give the Indian fans success.

He said: “For me to see people coming up to me, telling me that they were proud of the team made me feel really good to a certain extent.

“And along with them, I was healing as well. I felt, okay these are the kind of things you want to hear. When you meet people, when they understand what the player must be going through and when they know these kind of things, and not to bring out that frustration, that anger, it means a lot for us.

“It was just pure love from people that I met and it was wonderful to see that. So it gives you motivation to get back and start working again and look for another ultimate prize.”
