Oldham IT support firm celebrates 20 years in business with 20 good deeds

To celebrate an amazing 20 years in business, Oldham tech firm, Aspect IT, committed to doing 20 good deeds.

Upon announcement of the initiative in August, the company said it would positively impact the lives of those in their community.

Fast forward to now and the IT business has just completed its 10th good deed, marking the halfway point on the journey.

Director for Aspect IT, Peter Dorotiak, said: “We’ve always been passionate about giving back and making a positive change so the 20 Good Deeds Initiative felt like the perfect way to celebrate the huge milestone that is our 20th anniversary.”

Since starting the initiative back in August last year, the firm has supported a variety of
people and groups in Springhead, as well as further afield in Ashton and Huddersfield.

From food banks to animal shelters to various charities dedicated to supporting vulnerable
members of the community (including older people, families with babies in crisis and adults
with learning difficulties), Aspect IT has so far left no stone unturned in their bid to ‘create
positive change, one good deed at a time’.

Most recently, Aspect IT completed their 10th good deed.

This was a proud moment for the business, not just because it marked the halfway point but also because of the extra special nature of this particular deed.

Aspect IT Peter visits Ukraine with HTUHA for Good Deed 10 Back in December, Peter joined voluntary group, Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid, on one of their trips to Ukraine. On this trip, he helped the group deliver Christmas presents to children who had been left orphaned due to the ongoing war.

The firm has supported the group in the past for previous good deeds but Peter, who is of Ukrainian descent, had also worked with the group’s founder long before that given that the cause is something which is extremely close to his heart.

He said: “When I was asked if I’d like to join Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid on their Christmas trip for Aspect’s 10th deed, I practically jumped at the opportunity. Just a few weeks later I had booked and paid for my travel and was on my way! It was an absolute pleasure to join them. I witnessed first-hand the positive change the group’s efforts have on those who have been affected by the war and to say it was incredibly touching is an understatement.”

Whilst the spotlight shines on Peter and Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid, there was also some behind-the-scenes work going on at Aspect IT which couldn’t go unnoticed.

To help the group raise funds to facilitate the trip, Aspect IT set up a GoFundMe page.

The firm also arranged for packs containing a certificate of appreciation, in addition to a
drawing from one of the children in the orphanage, to be designed and posted out to
generous supporters as an extension of the group’s gratitude.

The firm’s marketing executive, Alysha Pritchard, said: “We’ve come across so many amazing charities, groups and individuals whilst carrying out these Good Deeds and our eyes have been opened to the inspiring work being carried out by people in our community.

“We can’t wait to see where the reminder of our journey takes us and who else we’ll meet
and support along the way.”

Founded in 2003, Aspect IT provide an array of services including general IT Support as well as IT Consultancy, Cloud Services, Software Development, VoIP Services, Web Design and Social Media Management.
