Manchester Metro Bank Appeals for Donations for Lifeshare this Christmas

Metro Bank’s Manchester store is collecting donations in store to help support Lifeshare as part of its Christmas Community Campaign to spread the warmth this winter.

Lifeshare help homeless and vulnerable people across Greater Manchester. Every year Lifeshare hosts Manchester’s only seven day indoor holiday support for rough sleepers, those in food and fuel poverty and those suffering from social isolation. Last year they served 2070 meals onsite and they have only seen numbers increase in 2022.

Manchester residents and businesses can donate the high need items the charity needs – non-perishable food including protein tins, porridge pots, pot noodles, cereal bars, biscuits, chocolate and bottled water, toiletries and warm adult clothing at the Market Street store. Specifically the charity is asking for jeans size 28- 34, small size joggers or leggings, trainers size 8-10, waterproof clothing and new boxer shorts.

“As a community bank we want to really help those most in need this Christmas and spread the warmth this winter,” explains Manchester Metro Bank Store Manager, Nilany Vasantharasan.  “We would encourage everyone to give a little this Christmas – even one tin can make a difference.  I want to thank everyone in advance for their generous support.”

All donations are welcome at Metro Bank’s Manchester is located at 45 Market Street, M1 1WR. The store is open Monday – Saturday: 8:30am – 6pm, Sunday: 11am – 5pm.
