0

INTO City, University of London, has collaborated with Bayes Business School to create an International Year One (IYO) in Finance for international students.

This jointly delivered programme by INTO and Bayes prepares international students for finance degrees at Bayes Business School.

Applications are currently open, with the programme set to begin in September 2025. An optional June term is available for students who need extra English language support.

John Sykes, CEO of INTO University Partnerships, said: “The launch of the IYO Finance program is an exciting next step in our valued partnership with City St George’s, University of London. This initiative reinforces our shared commitment to enhancing the academic and professional prospects of international students as they prepare for successful careers in the finance sector.”

The IYO program, equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree, enables international students to seamlessly transition into the second year of their chosen degree at Bayes Business School, while receiving language and academic support tailored to their needs.

Dr Malvina Marchese, Academic Director of the Finance clusters degrees at Bayes Business School, said: “I am delighted about this new venture between Bayes and INTO City, University of London. The new program will widen participation to the Finance degrees by allowing motivated and hard-working international students to join our community.”
“The program will be delivered jointly, ensuring the highest standard of teaching and students’ experience. The finance degrees have an impressive track record of employability and student satisfaction, making them ideal for curious and engaging international students who want to succeed in the finance industry.”
Bayes, recognized among the top 100 global business schools and accredited by AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB, is celebrated for its industry connections, professional placements, and strong graduate employability prospects – with an impressive average graduate salary of just under £44,000 a year.

Bayes students can benefit from the school’s 5000+ employer connections which offer a range of placement opportunities in sectors such as corporate finance, sales, trading, and hedge fund management. Recent graduates have secured positions at UBS, Morgan Stanley, and Unicef.

Bayes Business School’s finance degrees have consistently achieved recognition in national and international rankings, placing 3rd in London, 14th in the UK, and 10th in Europe.

INTO City’s Centre Director, Adelina Melillo, said: “The IYO in Finance at INTO City offers a unique opportunity to international students with aspirations to pursue a degree and career in Finance, blending Bayes’ world-class finance curriculum with INTO’s expert guidance.”

Upon successful completion of the IYO in Finance, students can progress to one of three prestigious finance-related degrees at Bayes, including Finance BSc (Hons), Banking and International Finance BSc (Hons), and Investment and Financial Risk Management BSc (Hons).

Reflecting on their experience at INTO City, one student said: “It is impressive how the Centre has created an inspiring and nurturing environment that fosters both academic excellence and personal growth, especially the foundation course in business, economics and accounting, allowing us to explore our own interests within a friendly environment and conscientious support from our teachers. I will always remember INTO City as one of my first unforgettable experiences in the UK.”

INTO University Partnerships connects ambitious international students with leading universities in the US, UK, and Australia. Since its inception in 2005, INTO has helped over 150,000 students from more than 180 countries achieve their dream of obtaining a degree from a world-class institution.

Paribu Launches Global Digital Asset Custody for Institutions

0

Since its founding in 2017, Paribu, Türkiye’s top crypto technology firm, has catered to over 7 million users. Now, with Paribu Custody, it offers secure digital asset custody and management to institutional clients worldwide, meeting international standards.

As a pioneering company in Türkiye’s crypto industry, Paribu has launched Paribu Custody, a service designed to securely store and manage digital assets for institutions globally.

Paribu Custody’s secure, independent wallet structure and robust infrastructure are tailored to support banks, financial institutions, crypto exchanges, DeFi entities, and blockchain startups needing secure digital asset solutions.

Unique custody infrastructure
Founded in 2017, Paribu provides fast, easy, and secure cryptocurrency trading services to its 7 million users and operates a registered custody company in Türkiye alongside its crypto asset trading platform. With Paribu Custody, it now offers digital asset custody services to institutional clients worldwide.
Cem Sağlam, Institutional Sales and Business Development Manager at Paribu, commented, “Developed by Paribu’s skilled engineers and software team, our service sets the standard for digital asset custody security in Türkiye, making Paribu unmatched in the field. Our proprietary ColdShield® technology positions Paribu Custody ahead of global competitors.”
Absolute security with multi-layered security architecture
Paribu’s ColdShield® technology, integrating MPC (Multi-Party Computation), SGX (Software Guard Extensions), and HSM (Hardware Security Module) technologies, divides customers’ private keys into multiple fragments and securely distributes them to separate parties. These distributed key parts are stored in a fully isolated environment, ensuring that no individual or organisation can access the complete private key.
With a multi-layered security architecture, ColdShield® technology prevents private key fragments from being reassembled, even during transfer. This design enables each party to generate partial signatures independently, eliminating single point of failure (SPoF) risks and providing clients with the highest level of asset security.
Cem Sağlam highlights that Paribu Custody, advancing even global standards, offers the ability to separate wallets into primary and proxy wallets, meeting diverse asset storage needs with options for cold, hot, and warm storage.
All platform processes are automatable via APIs. Additionally, the staking service enables organisations to conduct staking operations for crypto assets seamlessly, without requiring technical integration. Every process can be managed through the Paribu Custody mobile application, providing full control over each step—from transaction initiation to final signature approval.
Enables full regulatory compliance and reduces operational risk
Paribu Custody enables organisations to streamline Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing compliance controls through a single interface, supporting robust regulatory compliance processes. Comprehensive KYB (Know Your Business) procedures are conducted for all clients, ensuring adherence to legal standards and fostering a secure operational environment.
Banks and financial institutions can diversify their crypto asset offerings by leveraging Paribu Custody’s secure digital asset management solutions. Cryptocurrency trading platforms benefit from secure, compliant storage for client funds, while DeFi organisations can enhance asset security and reduce smart contract risks. Blockchain startups, meanwhile, can mitigate operational risks and ensure regulatory compliance through the secure storage of investor assets.
Paribu Custody is designed to securely store digital assets for today’s needs. Looking to the future, it is being developed to securely manage tokenised real-world assets (RWA) such as real estate, negotiable instruments, official documents, event tickets, and works of art, providing end-to-end corporate-level security.
Cem Sağlam concluded: “Paribu, the developer of Türkiye’s first independent blockchain project and the current setter of security standards in crypto asset custody, will continue to build the world of tomorrow.”

Outrage Over Billboard Mocking Albanese in Sydney

0

A mobile billboard mocking Anthony Albanese has sparked widespread anger in Sydney. The ad, displayed by Sasha7, Australia’s fastest-growing affair site, reads, “You’ve been letting him screw you for so long, your wife figured it was her turn to cheat,” with a photo of Albanese, and has already generated numerous complaints. Sasha7, a discreet affair website, known for its slogan “Married, but looking?” has taken credit for the ad.

The Vice-President of Strategy at Sasha7 explained: “Despite how this looks, this is not at all a political statement. The Sasha7 team has some people who support Albanese, people who don’t, and everything in between. The goal of this campaign was to spark interest, particularly in women, which it did. Sasha7 has a female first approach. Our research has shown that support for Albanese, especially among women, has significantly declined which is exactly why we ran with the idea. We believe that if we focus on attracting and retaining women first the men will follow.”

With inflation at 7%, property prices close to a million dollars, and interest rates above 4% under Albanese, the Prime Minister has become a prime target for criticism.

Sasha7 reports a surge in female signups, marking a record-breaking response since the ad’s debut.

About Sasha7: Sasha7 is a female-focused affair website that promotes an active community of open-minded, discreet, and non-judgmental users. Launched in 2020 Sasha7 became the fastest growing affair site in the world adding nearly 210,000 users in 2024 alone outpacing even sites like Ashley Madison

Winston’s Wish to bring Christmas cheer to bereaved families

0

A special Christmas party for bereaved Manchester children and their families, is taking place on December 8.

Winston’s Wish, the UK’s first children and young people’s bereavement charity, is hosting the free event from 2pm at Withington Girls’ School.

It is open to bereaved local children up to the age of 12, and will feature a silent disco, arts and crafts, a games station, party food and a gift from Santa.

The aim is to bring together children and their families who are united by their shared experiences of grief and bereavement because for them, Christmas can be an emotional time of year.

The parties are free for eligible children and are funded by the kind support of donors.

Estimates suggest that each day, more than 100 children in the UK are bereaved of a parent and that figure doesn’t equate how many young people are coping with the death of a sibling, grandparent, friend, or another significant individual in their lives.

Nicole Gerrard, fundraising events and campaigns manger said: “We know that Christmas can be a really difficult time of year for grieving children and their families. What is traditionally a time to celebrate family and good times together can actually serve to be a devastating reminder of their bereavement.

“For some, this Christmas will be their first festivity without their special person, for others this Xmas period is another reminder that their loved one is no longer with them.

“For these bereaved children and their families, it can be an incredibly isolating experience because it can cause a mixture of emotions from guilt over trying to have an enjoyable time to overwhelming sadness. This is why we hope to be able to unite local bereaved families to be able to come together and enjoy some nice memories with catering, festive activities, silent discos, arts and crafts and so on, all with expert bereavement support worker on hand.”

The special party also carries the thought of the charity’s Christmas Appeal – Colour their Christmas – which will serve to raise awareness of the situation countless bereaved young people, and their families will be facing this festive season.

Crucially, the appeal is also designed to raise vital funds so that Winston’s Wish can continue to open its services to grieving children locally and further afield throughout the UK.

Nicole added: “We are so thankful to be able to offer this party to local children who are navigating their bereavement and feelings of grief, and we’re reminded just how indebted we are to the kind and generous donations from incredible supporters.”

Parents can register up to three bereaved children per family aged 12 and younger via the dedicated page on the Winston’s Wish website.

Winston’s Wish is keen to reassure bereaved young people and their families that they are welcome to chat online, email or call for free to speak to a bereavement support worker by calling 08088 020 021 or using the live chat at winstonswish.org.

Bonuses and promotions: Maximisinh your online casino experience

Online casinos offer a variety of bonuses and promotions to attract new players and keep existing ones engaged. These incentives can significantly enhance your gaming experience by providing extra funds, free spins, and other perks. Here’s a guide to some of the most popular bonuses and how to make the most of them, with a special focus on no deposit free spins promotions.

Best Casino Bonuses and Promotions

1. Welcome Bonuses

Welcome bonuses are the most common type of promotion offered to new players. These typically come in the form of a match bonus, where the casino matches a percentage of your initial deposit. For example, a 100% match bonus up to £200 means that if you deposit £200, you’ll receive an additional £200 in bonus funds. To maximize this bonus, always check the wagering requirements and other terms and conditions.

2. No Deposit Bonuses

No deposit bonuses are a favourite among players because they allow you to try out a casino without risking your own money. These bonuses are usually smaller, ranging from £5 to £20, but they provide a great opportunity to explore the casino’s offerings. Keep in mind that no deposit bonuses often come with higher wagering requirements and withdrawal limits.

3. Free Spins Promotions

Free spins are another popular bonus, especially for slot enthusiasts. These can be part of a welcome package or offered as standalone promotions. Free spins allow you to play specific slot games without using loads of your own money. Any winnings from free spins are usually subject to wagering requirements.

4. No Deposit Free Spins

No deposit free spins are particularly attractive because they don’t require you to make a deposit to claim them. These promotions are often used to entice new players to sign up. For example, a casino might offer 20 free spins on a popular slot game like Starburst just for registering an account. While the number of spins might be limited, they provide a risk-free way to potentially win real money. Be sure to read the terms, as winnings from no deposit free spins often have wagering requirements and maximum withdrawal limits.

5. Reload Bonuses

Reload bonuses are similar to welcome bonuses but are available to existing players. These bonuses are designed to encourage players to make additional deposits. For instance, a casino might offer a 50% reload bonus up to £100 on your second deposit. Regularly checking the promotions page of your favourite casino can help you take advantage of these offers.

6. Cashback Offers

Cashback offers provide a safety net by returning a percentage of your losses over a specific period. For example, a casino might offer 10% cashback on losses incurred over a week. This type of promotion can help mitigate losses and extend your playing time.

7. Loyalty Programs and VIP Schemes

Many online casinos have loyalty programs or VIP schemes that reward regular players with points for every wager made. These points can be redeemed for bonuses, free spins, or other rewards. VIP schemes often come with additional perks, such as faster withdrawals, personal account managers, and exclusive promotions.

Tips for Maximising Your Bonuses

1.
Read the Terms and Conditions: Always read the fine print to understand the wagering requirements, game restrictions, and withdrawal limits associated with each bonus.
2.
Plan Your Deposits: Strategically plan your deposits to take full advantage of match bonuses and reload offers.
3.
Play Eligible Games: Ensure you play games that contribute 100% towards meeting the wagering requirements.
4.
Keep an Eye on Promotions: Regularly check the promotions page and subscribe to newsletters to stay updated on the latest offers.

Conclusion

Bonuses and promotions can significantly enhance your online casino experience by providing extra funds and opportunities to win. No deposit free spins are particularly valuable as they allow you to try out games without any financial commitment. By understanding the different types of bonuses and how to maximize them, you can make the most of your time at online casinos.

Lucis Choir & BRLSI Host Christmas Gala at Bath Abbey

To conclude their 10th anniversary season, Bath’s Lucis Choir will host a special Gala Concert at Bath Abbey on Tuesday, 17th December. This festive event, presented in partnership with the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI), is part of BRLSI’s bicentenary celebrations.

The concert will feature an array of festive music by some of Bath’s top musicians, including the world premiere of Lux Aeterna, a piece composed by Lucis’ patron, Will Todd, to mark the choir’s 10th anniversary. The evening will also include performances from Noctis Chamber ChoirBath Celebration ChoirThe Alley BarbersCavacante and the Bristol Ensemble.

Throughout 2024, the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution has commemorated its 200-year legacy with a calendar filled with festivals, lectures, and events celebrating its place in Bath’s cultural and intellectual scene. As a tribute to this landmark, Lucis’ musical director, Francis Faux, has arranged a special version of O Tannenbaum (O Christmas Tree), a song composed in 1824, the year BRLSI was established.

“This programme has been curated to represent the very essence of what Lucis set out to be almost a decade ago, namely a choir that offers its concertgoers something a bit different from the norm,” commented Lucis Founder and Musical Director Francis Faux. “Over the years, we have had the privilege of collaborating with some of the world’s leading choral composers, soloists, and ensembles, including patron Will Todd, Christopher Tin, Matthew Coleridge, Bernard Hughes, Sir Karl Jenkins, Dame Emma Kirkby, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Southern Sinfonia, Lochrian Ensemble, Maxim Calver, Ola Gjeilo, Bob Chilcott, Ēriks Ešenvalds and Eric Whitacre, as well as championing young talent closer to home.”

“The Institution came into being in early 1824 and held its inaugural lecture in January 1825,” shared Professor Ian Gadd, Chair of the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution. “We’re both delighted to share anniversary celebrations with Lucis and delighted to see out 2024 with such a special event.”

“This collaboration is truly thrilling, with such a rich variety of music,” remarked BRLSI Music Convenor and co-Musical Director, Tim Snowden. “Bath Celebration Choir is excited to join, celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. I am particularly looking forward to the combined choirs performing my setting of In the Bleak Mid-Winter, arranged for last year’s Carols by Candlelight at BRLSI. Audiences can also look forward to a performance from the University of Bath’s student barbershop ensemble, ‘The Alley Barbers,’ and some traditional Brazilian Choro music from local group ‘Cavacante.’ It promises to be a truly spectacular evening.”

Maximizing Comfort in Small Spaces: Choosing Between Mini Splits and Wall-Mounted Units

For anyone looking to create a comfortable indoor environment in a small space, selecting the right air conditioning unit can make all the difference. With options such as mini splits and wall-mounted units available, it’s essential to understand how each of these systems works, their benefits, and which is best suited for specific needs. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you make an informed choice.

Understanding Mini Split and Wall-Mounted Units

Mini splits and wall-mounted air conditioning units are both compact and efficient options that provide temperature control without the extensive ductwork of central air conditioning systems. Mini splits, also known as ductless mini split systems, consist of two main components: an outdoor compressor and one or more indoor units connected by refrigerant lines. These units can be placed in different rooms for multi-zone cooling, and their ductless design allows them to deliver cool or warm air directly to a specific area.

In contrast, a wall-mounted AC unit is typically installed in a single room. It’s directly mounted on the wall, making it ideal for spaces with limited floor area. These units are self-contained and tend to be easier to install compared to multi-zone mini split systems, which can require professional installation.

Benefits of Mini Split Systems

One of the primary advantages of mini split systems is their versatility. These systems allow for multi-zone cooling, meaning that each indoor unit operates independently. This flexibility is beneficial for homes or commercial spaces where certain areas need to be cooled or heated while others do not, maximizing energy efficiency. The multi-zone capability also allows for personalized temperature control, which can be a significant comfort factor.

In addition to this versatility, mini split systems are known for being energy-efficient. They utilize inverter technology, which adjusts the speed of the compressor to meet the cooling or heating demands of each room. This reduces the frequency of on/off cycling, saving energy and lowering operational costs. Mini splits are also quieter than traditional window units, making them an appealing option for bedrooms, home offices, and other spaces where noise can be disruptive.

Advantages of Wall-Mounted AC Units

For those who need a straightforward and cost-effective cooling solution, wall-mounted AC units provide excellent value. They’re typically easier and quicker to install than mini split systems, making them suitable for single-room applications in homes, apartments, and offices. Installation involves securing the unit to the wall, making sure it’s properly vented, and connecting it to an electrical source, which can often be completed without the need for specialized skills or tools.

Wall-mounted AC units are also compact and unobtrusive. Installed high on the wall, these units save valuable floor space, which can be particularly useful in small apartments or offices where every square foot counts. Furthermore, wall-mounted ACs provide strong cooling performance, often with multiple fan speeds and adjustable air direction to optimize air distribution throughout the room.

Comparing Energy Efficiency and Cost

When it comes to energy efficiency, mini splits generally have the edge over wall-mounted AC units. The inverter technology in mini splits allows them to regulate compressor speed, maintaining consistent temperatures with less energy. Many mini split systems are ENERGY STAR® certified, which could qualify them for rebates and incentives in some regions, making them a financially attractive option over time.

However, the upfront costs of mini splits can be higher than those of wall-mounted units. Mini splits usually require a professional to handle the installation, especially for multi-zone setups where refrigerant lines and electrical connections need to be correctly configured. Wall-mounted units, on the other hand, tend to be more affordable and easier to install, which can be an advantage for those on a tighter budget.

Ease of Installation

Installation requirements are another significant factor to consider. Mini split systems involve mounting the indoor unit on a wall, drilling holes to connect it to the outdoor compressor, and setting up the refrigerant lines. Professional installation is often recommended to ensure that the system operates efficiently and safely. Once installed, mini splits are relatively low-maintenance and have fewer recurring upkeep costs.

By contrast, wall-mounted units are generally easier to install and can often be managed by the homeowner or a general contractor. They require minimal alteration to the wall structure and do not involve refrigerant lines, making them less labor-intensive. The ease of installation of wall-mounted units makes them an attractive choice for tenants or those who may need a temporary or easily removable cooling solution.

Which Is Better for Small Spaces?

The best choice depends on the specific needs and priorities of the user. Mini split systems excel in environments that require multi-zone temperature control, energy efficiency, and quiet operation. They’re ideal for homeowners or business owners who want tailored comfort in different rooms without needing central air conditioning. For example, if you have a small business with individual offices, each room can have its own mini split unit, allowing employees to control their temperature preferences.

Wall-mounted AC units, however, are perfect for single-room applications where cost, simplicity, and quick installation are primary considerations. These units work well in small apartments, studios, and offices, delivering efficient cooling without the need for extensive installation. They’re also a practical choice for people who rent, as the units can be easily removed if necessary.

Additional Considerations: Humidity Control and Air Quality

Humidity control is essential in any cooling system, particularly in regions with high humidity levels. Mini splits are particularly effective at reducing indoor humidity, which can help prevent mold growth and improve indoor air quality. Some models also include air purifying filters that capture dust, pollen, and other allergens, making them an excellent option for individuals with allergies or respiratory concerns.

While wall-mounted AC units may lack advanced filtration features, many modern models offer basic dehumidification and air filtering. However, for those with more stringent air quality requirements, a mini split system might be more beneficial due to its advanced air purification options.

Making the Right Choice

Selecting between a mini split and a wall-mounted AC unit ultimately comes down to your specific cooling needs, budget, and preferences. For those seeking a versatile, energy-efficient, and quiet option with multi-zone control, mini split systems are hard to beat. Meanwhile, wall-mounted units offer simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and convenience, especially in single-room settings where ease of installation is a priority.

Whether you’re outfitting a small apartment, office, or a multi-room space, choosing the right system can significantly impact comfort, energy consumption, and air quality. By weighing the strengths of each option and considering your unique requirements, you’ll be better equipped to create an efficient and comfortable indoor environment that meets your needs.

The hottest property spots in Greater Manchester

Manchester has seen property prices rise astronomically over the last five years. This would suggest that the bubble has burst, and the areas where you can pick up quality investment properties have all but dried up.

That is not the case, and Greater Manchester still has several suburbs and towns where bargains are still to be had. However, these properties are selling fast. We pick out our favourites in the article below.

Sale

The whole Trafford area is a great investment opportunity for short-term lets. The area is filled with young professionals and students. They tend to value its close proximity to the city centre and educational establishments like Salford University and the University of Manchester, along with its excellent public transport links.

Sale is one of the many great spots here, located along the Bridgewater Canal. Lots of investment has brought the centre to life, and with it have come an abundance of bars, restaurants, and independent shops. This has turned it into a cultural hub of sorts.
A terraced home or flat will cost around £310,400, with an average property price coming in at around £375,000. You can expect a rental yield of around 8% if you are looking to buy and let.

Gorton

Gorton is an extremely overlooked area. Gentrification is just starting to creep in, as it attracts young professionals who want access to Stockport and the cosmopolitan area of Levenshulme. It is also extremely close to West Didsbury, which has historically always been a trendy area out of the city centre.

The average property price here is around £185,024. An average rental comes in at 7.80%. However, if you already own a property in Gorton, it is worth noting that prices have risen an astounding 24% over the past five years. If the young professional life is no longer for you and you want to move on, now could be the best time to sell. Much easier than it was five years ago, selling can now be done online with the help of companies like Sold.co.uk. They can buy a property with quick cash offers or even help you sell it if you prefer a more traditional estate agent route. This comes with no hidden fees, and you can sell within your own timeframe.

Wigan

Wigan may be on the outskirts of Greater Manchester, but this is its strength as opposed to its weakness. It allows access to all the major cities and does so with a number of attractive locations. It also has several major companies that operate in the area, such as the food manufacturing company Heinz.

Astley is a village just off the Bridgewater Canal, connected yet surrounded by greenery. Average properties cost around £252,570, making them highly affordable. Other towns include Tyldesley, a market town that hugs the moors, boasting an average house price of £220,819.

The North West is undergoing a regeneration, and property prices will continue to rise. As a seller, now may be the time to benefit from the equity in your home. As a buyer, it offers unparalleled potential for rental yields. There has never been a better time to invest in Greater Manchester.

Rochdale’s Christmas Toy Appeal returns to bring festive cheer to struggling families

Rochdale children who are less fortunate will have presents to open on December 25, thanks to the Giving Back charity.

Council staff, who have organised the appeal for the last 11 years, are now collecting donations for this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal.

Donations will be accepted until December 13.

Council policy advisor Helen Walton (pictured), from the Giving Back charity who started the appeal and was recently awarded a British Empire Medal for her work on it said: “We are already receiving request for donations. Heat or eat will be a real choice for many families this winter and Christmas will be something they just can’t afford, so every donation we receive goes to a child who would otherwise be likely not to have any presents to unwrap.

“We rely on the generosity of people and businesses in our borough, and together we can make a difference for the borough’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children at a time when it is most needed.”

To help, all you need to do is donate an unwrapped, new gift suitable for a child up to 16 years old and leave it at your local library or Your Trust leisure centre by Friday, December 13.

Gifts for babies and teenagers would be especially welcome as fewer were received for these age groups last year. There are also extra collection points open at the Rochdale Riverside retail and leisure destination (management office on first floor), RRG Toyota on Edinburgh Way and the Crown Oil Arena.

Council volunteers, who distributed over 6,000 toys last year, will make sure they reach children in time for Christmas Day. Toys are matched with the age and interests of the recipient.

Councillor Rachel Massey said: “Helping a parent or carer provide a gift for their child is more than simply financial support, it brings the joy of Christmas into their home and this appeal helps provide local children and families with gifts who would otherwise likely go without.

“Sadly our Christmas Toy Appeal is needed more than ever but every year I am humbled to see so much generosity – if you can buy at least one extra present, you’ll really bring some joy to a local young person.”

As Christmas raises awareness of the excess and waste created, once again organisers are asking people to consider donating a more environmentally friendly gift and supporting local shops where they can.

You can also order a gift online and send it straight to the appeal: Giving Back – Christmas Toy Appeal, Rochdale Borough Council, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU.

The appeal is organised by the ‘Rochdale Giving Back’ charity in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council, Rochdale Football Club and Your Trust.

Some local businesses and organisations have already stepped up to support the appeal, including STM Agency, Rochdale Football Club and Rochdale Riverside.
