Wolves will activate a purchase clause in their loan deal for Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle at the end of the season, the club’s head coach Gary O’Neil has confirmed.
Wolves signed Doyle on loan with a view to a permanent deal last August, after sending Matheus Nunes the other way in a deal worth £53million to the Molineux club.
Doyle had to bide his time after arriving in the West Midlands with Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes impressing in the heart of O’Neil’s midfield – the latter earning a senior Brazil debut against England and being linked with Manchester United and Arsenal.
However, he has impressed while making 22 Premier League appearances for Wolves, 10 of them starts, and scored his first goal for the club in an FA Cup draw against Brentford in January – a stunning 25-yard strike.
Doyle’s loan agreement reportedly allows Wolves to purchase him for a cut-price £4.3m, and after working under financial constraints this season, O’Neil expects them to do so in the summer transfer window.
“I would expect him to be here next year,” O’Neil said of Doyle. “Hopefully we can get that done fairly quickly in the summer. I know he feels settled and I know he’s enjoying it.
“We’re delighted with how he’s done, so I don’t foresee any issues with that one being done.”
The England Under-21 international has produced a series of composed midfield performances for a Wolves team that many expected to struggle, but were instead fighting for European qualification before a series of injuries derailed their campaign.
“He’s been able to show his real strengths in certain moments, especially when we’re able to dominate the ball, he gives us something,” O’Neil said.
“Joao Gomes and Mario Lemina have had fantastic seasons, so the fact Tommy has managed to impact it as well as he has, with them two doing as well as they have, tells you how well Tommy has performed.”
ADHD 360, collaborating with distinguished educators and experts on neurodiversity, is thrilled to introduce the ‘Neurodiversity in Schools Toolkit‘. This essential educational resource, debuting on May 1, 2024, aims to significantly improve how neurodiverse students are educated throughout the UK.
Grounded in the belief that “Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, especially those within often neglected neurodiverse groups”, the toolkit brings forward practical strategies and insights. Leveraging the latest research and ADHD 360’s vast experience with ADHD and autism, it provides educators, from teachers to school leaders, with the vital tools and knowledge needed for an inclusive and effective educational approach.
Donna Sharkey, leading this initiative at ADHD 360, emphasized the toolkit’s role in education: “Neurodiversity in the classroom is increasingly recognised but not always understood. Our toolkit offers a thorough approach to help educators unlock every student’s potential.”
Phil Anderton, Managing Director at ADHD 360, added: “This toolkit is more than just resources; it’s part of a broader movement towards inclusive education, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.”
Ben Johnson, a teacher from Horncastle, remarked on the collaboration: “This collaboration with ADHD 360 and our SEND team has been revolutionary. This toolkit will make participating schools a beacon for students with ADHD.”
ADHD 360 encourages educational stakeholders across the UK to embrace this toolkit and support their drive to make a lasting impact on the lives of neurodiverse students.
Tosçelik Spiral Boru, a prominent subsidiary of Tosyalı, Türkiye’s leading steel producer and Europe’s top pipe manufacturer, has successfully secured the contract for the “Rhine Water Pipeline” (RWTL) project.
The RWTL is a key environmental initiative in Germany, designed to transport water from the Rhine River to replenish abandoned open-pit mines. Undertaken by RWE, a major German energy company, the project will involve Tosçelik Spiral Boru supplying 130,000 tonnes and 105,600 metres of large-diameter pipes measuring 2235 mm. The agreement was formalised with a signing ceremony at RWE’s convention centre, Paffendorf Castle, close to Cologne.
Fuat Tosyalı, the Chairman of Tosyalı, stated, “As Europe’s biggest green steel pipe producer, this project has a special meaning for us since the idea is unique. As Tosyalı, we prioritise sustainability investments in every touch point of our production and deliberately invest in green transformation technologies. So when a project with the highest environmental sensitivity is announced, like Rhine Water Pipeline, we are even more motivated to participate with our low carbon footprint steel pipes.”
Dr Lars Kulik, RWE Power’s CTO, said, “For our project, we need large, high-quality pipes that will carry water from the River Rhine to the mine lakes for decades. Another focus of our tender was the manufacturer’s attitude towards the environment. We are delighted to have Tosyalı with their vertically integrated production from raw material to end products, ensuring sustainability and the highest technology used in production at our side. With their support, we will sustainably transform the opencast mines into attractive lakes – for the benefit of generations to come.”
Tosçelik Spiral Boru, one of the successful companies of Tosyalı, Türkiye’s global steel producer and one of the largest spiral pipe producers in Europe, continues to grow by participating in new projects with the agreements it has made while continuing to contribute to the green transformation initiated within the scope of the EU Green Deal in many European countries.
Green Transformation Bridge from Türkiye to Germany
By 2030, Germany’s RWE power generation company will stop operating coal-fired power plants and opencast mines. With this project, the company will recultivate the disused opencast mines in Garzweiler and Hambach and turn them into lakes. For this purpose, the company will pump water from the Rhine River near Düsseldorf and Cologne along a 45 km-long route through underground pressurized pipes. This will not only reintroduce former opencast mines back into nature but also provide clean water to protected wetlands and stabilize the regional groundwater table.
Tosçelik Spiral Pipes Made of Green Steel Will Be Used in the Project
Tosyalı, which RWE has contracted as a supplier in this investment made within the framework of green transformation, realizes the steel production with the lowest carbon footprint in the sector. Tosyalı, which makes sustainability-oriented investments in its facilities in Türkiye and Algeria, is one of the pioneers of the sector in green steel production in the world with its investments in clean energy sources such as solar and hydrogen. In Türkiye, the company has reached 235 MW installed capacity with the SPP project realized with the investment made in all its facilities at the same time, making it the company with the largest rooftop SPP in the world. With this project, it is also one of the world’s greenest steel producers by preventing approximately 171 million kg of carbon emissions. Tosyalı also invests in hydrogen, the energy of the future, with new-generation technologies. The second DRI production facility in Algeria, which was realized with MIDREX technology, will be able to operate with 100% hydrogen. With these sustainability-oriented investments, Tosyalı produces the world’s greenest and most environmentally friendly steel and has the lowest carbon footprint in the world.
RWE’s significant investment in green transformation will utilize Tosyalı’s sustainability-focused, environmentally friendly steel pipes. The project, which involves the construction of a three-strand steel pipeline on an approximately 45 km route, is scheduled to start at the end of 2024 and be completed by the end of 2029.

Learn about the profound impact of economics on society and the important role it plays in modern education. How understanding economic principles gives people the knowledge to cope with financial difficulties, make informed decisions, and contribute to economic prosperity.
Economics affects every aspect of our society, and teaching it to future generations is a prioritized task of educators. Today, students are exposed to economic concepts at a younger age, regardless of their field of study. A solid foundation in this domain helps them understand the surrounding world, how it interacts with a global economic system, and how they contribute to it as individuals.
Given the strong emphasis on economic education, it is much easier to explore fundamental principles and practical scenarios through numerous introductory and specialized programs. From market theory to personal finance, economics covers a variety of topics that will provide you with adequate knowledge and applicable skills to make informed decisions that can contribute to economic growth.
The Importance of Economic Education
Learning economics is beneficial to both the individual learner and the nation’s economy as a whole. From a student’s perspective, economic education empowers them to use their money more wisely amid the increasingly complicated environment. On the other hand, economic knowledge translates into a stable, growing economy fostered by smart consumers and safe investment.
One of the reasons for studying economics is to understand your finances better. What is more relevant than knowing about your savings, loans, house ownership, employment policies, and retirement plans? Indeed, a strong background in economics allows you to improve economic security by overcoming challenges and adapting to the ever-changing global landscape.
However, it’s commonly observed that some students benefit from extra guidance as they build confidence in financial and economic topics. This can be achieved with the help of education experts like Witherow Brooke, who assist families in finding personalised tutors and homeschooling professionals who help learners understand these concepts in a structured manner.
Overall, an investment in economics education is essential, especially in a knowledge-based economy like ours. Students are highly encouraged to enroll in economics courses and stay aware of the current economic setting. More importantly, they can equip themselves with the desired problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills that turn risks into opportunities.
Economics Education Programs: Which One to Choose?
Searching through countless courses and programs, you might be overwhelmed by the extensive number of topics and discourses on economics. Some offer a real-world relevant approach, while others focus on theories and principles. Whether your interest lies in macroeconomics or microeconomics, make sure you choose the best-suited program to accomplish your objectives.
Online Courses from Coursera, edX, etc.
Online learning platforms like Coursera and edX offer free, reliable courses on economics that require just a few clicks to register. Some of the popular specializations covered are game theory, microeconomics principles, and monetary policy. Learners can also enroll in certificate and degree programs if they have the time and budget for more advanced studies.
Whether you are a beginner or an expert in economics, online courses offer a unique, flexible advantage over offline ones. Without having to commute or reschedule other responsibilities, students can get a great education from prestigious institutions across the globe. Furthermore, online courses are relatively cheaper, allowing them to save some extra money for other needs.
IB Economics
For a more interactive classroom experience, IB Economics is an ideal choice for students from 16 to 19 years of age with dynamic, practical course content. Encompassing six real-world issues that represent nine key concepts, the program is the most well-rounded one for students to adopt basic principles and evaluate the current market. On top of that, multiple IB economics tutors are available to enhance the learning process, adding an advantage to this rigorous program.
A-Level Economics
A-Level Economics is another outstanding resource for economics education, with content ranging from individual economic decision-making to the international economy. Such diverse concepts provide comprehensive knowledge of the subject while the assessment scheme ensures course outcomes. Specifically, students must demonstrate coherent reasoning through their extended responses to given questions at the end of the program.
AP (Advanced Placement) Economics
The two separate AP programs in economics are AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics. Both are semester-long courses that teach the basics, such as supply and demand, as well as more specialized topics at the college level. Upon completing either course, students will be able to analyze different economic concepts using charts and graphs. A notable thing about AP is that it does not require high math skills, and students at the basic mathematics level can easily pass the exams with flying colors.
Summer Programs
There are thousands of summer programs in economics offered by universities and higher education institutions all over the world. Students will participate in short-term learning courses that usually last over the summer vacation. Some of the most renowned courses are the Cambridge Economics Summer Program and the LSE Summer School. They follow the same standards as regular classes at the host institution, allowing high school students to experience a university teaching environment before their college admissions.
Career Opportunities With an Economics Degree
An economics degree opens the door to fascinating, lifelong career opportunities in both the public and private sectors. Employers highly appreciate economic decision-making skills, and being an economics graduate gives you an advantage when sending in your CV to business operation positions. A majority of economics students enter financial institutions as business analysts or become researchers at governmental offices. Either way, they all excel at their work and enjoy a fulfilling career in the field they have chosen.
Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says the club have given Erik ten Hag more trust and support than he had when he was in charge.
The 61-year-old won the Europa League and League Cup during his time at Old Trafford, but was sacked in 2018 after failing to challenge for the Champions League places that season.
Since his dismissal, the Red Devils have only won one trophy – the 2023 League Cup – and have failed to re-establish their dominance of the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Mourinho has delivered success at almost every club he has managed and believes he could have done a lot more in Manchester had he enjoyed a better relationship with former chief executive Ed Woodward.
Since Mourinho’s sacking, neither Solskjaer, the interim Ralf Rangnick, and now Ten Hag have been unable to better his second-place finish
He told The Telegraph: “My relationship with Ed Woodward was good. Good as in the personal point of view.
“Even now we send an SMS. But from a professional point of view it was not the best. I am who I am. I am a football man.
“Ed comes from a different background and what Ten Hag has in his time at Manchester United I didn’t have.
“I didn’t have that level of support. I didn’t have that level of trust. So I left sad, because I felt I was in the beginning of the process.
“In some moments, I felt if they trusted me and believed in my experience things could be different.”
Mourinho often complained about the lack of quality and professionalism from some of his squad during his tenure at United and had multiple public fallouts with the likes of Paul Pogba and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The former Chelsea tactician even admitted wanting to sell some players who remain in Ten Hag’s squad today.
Jose Mourinho is surprised there are still certain players playing for Man Utd

“Being inducted into the Hall of Fame makes me very proud.
“Football is a game of ups and downs, but I enjoyed every single minute of my career.
“The reason you play football and compete at the highest level is to win major honours.
“It was so, so special for me to win so many trophies and five Premier Leagues.
“To get my first one was crazy and after that I just wanted more.”
Terry recognised as a Premier League great
Chelsea’s iconic defender Terry was the other recognised figure and the 43-year-old still holds the record for most clean sheets as a defender in the competition with 214.

Bruno Fernandes says the Manchester United players need to focus on their own jobs and not get distracted by speculation surrounding the future of manager Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag’s position at Old Trafford has looked perilous even before the partial takeover by Jim Ratcliffe, who was at Wembley yesterday as United squandered a 3-0 lead against Championship side Coventry City, survived a narrow offside call that would have almost certainly meant an extra-time defeat before squeezing through on a penalty shoot-out.
Ratcliffe cannot fail to have been alarmed by the disorganised nature of United’s performance which came on the back of one win in seven league games.
It seems inevitable Ten Hag will be dismissed in the summer but captain Fernandes believes the players need to ignore the noise around the Dutchman.
He told The Guardian: “That doesn’t have to affect anyone because we have to focus on everything we have this season. We still have chances to get in the European positions in the league, we have to finish as high as possible, that’s the main thing, and then we have an FA Cup final to play.
“So no one has to be worried because it’s not our job to be worried with these things that come from the outside or from the inside or whatever because we have the owners who take care of that, we have the directors and then we players…it’s about performing on the pitch and giving our best.”
United will now meet Manchester City in the final for the second year in succession. City won last year 2-1 thanks to Ilkay Gundogan’s brace with Fernandes netting for United from the penalty spot.
“It’s two years in a row we have reached a final, we know how difficult it is to get to the final of the FA Cup. Obviously we wanted to get there in a different way,” added the Portugal midfielder.
“For the first 70 minutes, we were so good, we controlled the game and then obviously well done from them, they believed, they gave everything they could to get back to the game and they did it.
“At the end, they got some lucky goals but at the same time, we have to give credit to them.”
