Police and paramedics descended on Frederick Street after reports of a potential crash

Emergency services swarmed a residential street in Oldham after concerns of a major incident involing a child.
Police and paramedics were called to Frederick Street on Saturday (May 23), with the road taped off between Keble Avenue and Oriel Avenue, and from Grendon Avenue to Hollins Road.
Pictures from the scene show a large emergency services presence behind a police corden, including around a dozen officers and at least three ambulance vehicles.

Greater Manchester Police said the incident was initially reported as a child on the floor, with fears they may have been involved in a road traffic collision.
However, after reviewing the CCTV footage, officers say they believe the child had fallen from a bike and that no crash had taken place.
It is understood the road has since reopened.
The child is not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries. North West Ambulance Service has been approached for more information.
