Detectives appeal following serious assault in Oldham

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Oldham.

On Monday at around 4.14am, a man was assaulted by another male outside The Bank pub on Yorkshire Street.

The victim remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault to come forward and assist their investigation.

Detective inspector Andy Day said: “This is a serious incident in which the victim of this assault remains in a critical condition in hospital.

“We are now appealing for people to come forward and help our investigation – no piece of information is too small.

“Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage can contact police on 0161 856 8962, quoting the log number 1424 of 15/07/24.

“Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
