Manchester’s favourite day of the year back for 2024

Manchester’s favourite day of the year is back for 2024 with the date of this year’s annual Manchester Day celebration of the city and all things Mancunian now confirmed as Saturday, July 27.
Building on the success of last year’s promenade style event that saw activities take place in a number of central locations, this year’s event is set to take over the whole of the city centre with even more fun-filled, free activities for all the family to experience and enjoy.

The council will be working with creative partners over the coming months on finalising the programme for a jam-packed fun-filled day that will see the city’s streets and squares come to life with all kinds of unexpected things to see and do.

Councillor Pat Karney, chair of Manchester Day, said: “Manchester Day has been a highlight in the city’s events calendar for well over a decade now and the feel-good buzz it creates across the city on the day is absolutely fantastic – and best of all, it’s free!

“We know how much everyone loves Manchester’s favourite day of the year and can’t wait to spend it once again celebrating the best city in the world with the very best people in the world – and that’s everyone who calls Manchester their home.”
