Jean-Clair Todibo

Amid defensive frailties that have plagued Manchester United, the pursuit of Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo seems a logical step.

The French international has been on the club’s radar since the summer, and his commanding presence in the centre-back position could provide the much-needed solidity at the back.

While Todibo might command a fee of around £40 million, Manchester United faces competition from Tottenham and Newcastle for his signature.

The 29-year-old helped Argentine win the 2022 World Cup and has garnered acclaim as one of La Liga’s finest midfielders at Real Betis.
