Flexiss Group and LGIM Honour SureStore Bury’s Dual Award Achievement

In a fiercely competitive category at the forefront of the self-storage industry, Flexiss Group and Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of SureStore Bury, part of their innovative SureStore portfolio. In October, this self-storage facility clinched the prestigious title of “Multi-Site Operator Store of the Year 2023” at the FEDESSA European Self Storage Awards, adding to its earlier triumph as “UK Multi-Site Operator Store of the Year” at the UK SSA Awards in May 2023.

The Self Storage Association United Kingdom (SSA UK) Awards, hosted at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham, and the FEDESSA European Self Storage Awards in Rotterdam, are both highly regarded events that honour remarkable contributions and accomplishments within the self-storage industry. These accolades carry significant weight, considering the industry’s fierce competition and stringent standards.

SureStore Bury, which welcomed its first customers in September 2019, marks the fourth facility within the SureStore network and falls under the purview of Flexiss Group, a prominent independent storage management platform. Situated conveniently near the M66 at the bustling Pilsworth retail park, the facility has epitomised innovation in the self-storage sector. SureStore Bury offers a range of storage options, including Home Storage units, Business Storage units, Drive-up Storage for added convenience, and Trade Counters catering to local businesses.

Beyond cutting-edge storage solutions, the facility boasts purpose-built offices, setting a new industry benchmark. The presence of a 1000sqft ground floor office with comprehensive amenities underscores its commitment to excellence.

Paul Whitaker, Commercial Director at Flexiss Group, expressed his pride in the achievement: “An absolutely amasing achievement considering this is our first time in with the ‘big boys’ after only opening the first SureStore in 2018. This double win at both the UK and European levels is a testament to our commitment to excellence and innovation in the self-storage industry.”

Jon Gardner, Operations Director of SureStore, added, “SureStore Bury is a shining example of what makes our industry great. Well-trained, friendly multi-talented staff, flexible solutions for all customer types, a deep connection to the local community, and a stack of tech which means we are always ready for anything.”

Flexiss Group has introduced innovative technologies to offer sustainable storage solutions, minimising their environmental footprint. Among the sustainability initiatives implemented at their facilities are integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging points, energy-efficient LED lighting, photovoltaic (PV) panels, and bicycle storage. They are committed to ensuring that all future new builds achieve Net Zero Carbon operation.

This dual award win for SureStore Bury not only underscores the facility’s exceptional service and operational excellence but also highlights the strategic vision and industry leadership demonstrated by Flexiss Group and LGIM. Their dedication to delivering top-tier storage solutions, exceptional customer service, and innovative business practices has clearly set a new standard for quality and excellence within the self-storage industry.
