Unique Personalised Number Plate: The Perfect Father’s Day Gift for Under £40

A car expert suggests that a personalised number plate starting from £39 could be the ideal gift for Father’s Day this year.

Jon Kirkbright, the sales director at Private Number Plates, specializes in the buying and selling of private registration plates. With over 11 years of experience, his company currently offers a vast selection of more than 56 million personalised number plates for sale.

Private Number Plates takes pride in being an affordable number plate supplier, offering plates starting from just £39 plus VAT and transfer fees.

Father’s Day falls on June 18 this year, and Jon recommends considering a private registration plate as a unique gift for your loved ones.

He said, “Approximately 25% of our customers purchase plates as gifts for someone else. Many people buy them for special occasions such as Christmas or birthdays. Buying a private plate for events like Father’s Day could be the perfect solution for finding a remarkable gift. Families with multiple children could contribute together to give their loved one an amazing present.”

According to a Father’s Day buyer’s survey conducted by Create Gift Love, nearly half (44%) of shoppers budget up to £30 for gifts. Personalised presents were found to be one of the top five most popular gift categories for the occasion.

The survey also revealed that 78% of people found it challenging to come up with gift ideas for their fathers. Jon asserts that a private number plate would be a thoughtful and personal gift idea that any parent would be thrilled to receive.

He added, “We also offer a transfer service, which means we can arrange for the number plate to be valid on the vehicle from a specific date, such as June 18. We can also deliver physical number plates to your doorstep, making it a simple swap before proudly displaying the new number plate on the car.”

When searching for private number plates, gift buyers often look for plates that resemble names, initials, or meaningful words, as well as numbers related to special events like birthdays.

While Private Number Plates offers a vast selection of plates available for immediate purchase, Jon mentions that the company has a plate alert system in place to help locate specific number plates if needed.

He explained, “If customers can’t find what they are looking for, they can provide us with their specifications, and we will notify them if it becomes available. We can also bring any number plate to auction from the DVLA, as long as it is legal and has never been issued before.”

Apart from being a thoughtful gift, a personalised number plate could also prove to be an investment if the recipient ever decides to sell it.

Jon stated, “I always say that private number plates should double in value every three to five years. Buying a private plate is an excellent investment opportunity.”

Private Number Plates offers a free registration valuation service that can be easily completed online.

Jon added, “We review 250 requests each day and provide customers with the price we would offer to stock it, as well as the expected retail price.”
