We’re Electric: celebrate the best of Manchester at Clockwise

Flexible workspace operator, Clockwise, has announced ‘We’re Electric’ – a day of free workshops and events to celebrate the launch of Clockwise Manchester, just off Portland Street in the heart of the city centre taking place on the 26th January.

The completely free ‘We’re Electric’ event, which gives a nod to the power generator history of Linley House, will shed light on some of the small, independent businesses that call Manchester home. Whether you’re after a day celebrating Manchester’s best businesses or looking to grow your own, there is something for all to enjoy. Everything at the We’re Electric event is free to attend for everyone, all that’s required is to book onto your favourite workshops through the Eventbrite links.

Northern Flower will be running a Terrarium workshop for those with green fingers, and renowned Manchester brewers, Track Brewery, will be hosting its ever-popular beer tasting event in the space. Whilst those in the mood to work up a sweat and be put through their paces by an expert fitness instructor, Barry’s will be there to get hearts pounding with a free fitness class.

Lead by Three Little Words mixologists, enjoy a guided demonstration and tasting of four different styles of martini, using the spirits created in the on-site distillery at The Spirit of Manchester. At the end guests will have the chance to try its Clear Espresso Martini, created using state-of-the-art technology.

Bringing the tunes to Clockwise will be some of Manchester finest up and coming record labels with Ded Luvly, Stells Selection and P Ro Jones of Love Scene providing the vibes. At the party celebrating all things Mancunian, two of the most loved operators in the city will be providing the food with slices from Nell’s and cookies coming in from Gooey. Whilst Manchester’s favourite bier bar, Albert’s Schloss, will be keeping the drinks flowing all night long. What’s more, renowned chef and founder of Eat Well MCR Mary-Ellen McTague will be hosting a unique sauerkraut making class.

For those looking to grow their business or meet likeminded savvy businesspeople, throughout the day there will be branding experts on hand to take your business to the next level. As well as speed headshots throughout the day from Shaun Peckham for creators looking to update their portfolio. There are few with better experience than Shaun from behind the lens having worked with some of the biggest brands in the UK such as Puma, Carhartt WIP and Warehouse Projects, this opportunity isn’t one to be missed.

Manchester is Clockwise’s ninth space with the others located across some of the UK. The Manchester site is located at Linley House on Dickinson Street, just off Portland Street in the city centre and is set over eight floors spanning 30,000sq. ft in total. The space includes dedicated office space, private desks and meeting rooms, alongside breakout areas, and club lounges created to support different styles of working. Members will also have access to podcast recording room and an onsite artisan café Two Hands.

The space has been designed to reflect the changing nature of work, with flexible licences and technology enabling seamless communication between those at home or in office spaces, including the Clockwise portal and in-house A/V.
