Alpine Group expands UK fire protection network with Richmond Fire Engineers acquisition

Alpine Group, a leading provider of specialist fire suppression and detection services, has expanded its UK operations through the acquisition of Richmond Fire Engineers Ltd (Rfe), adding an established fire protection business with extensive experience across commercial, public sector and manufacturing environments.

The deal forms part of Alpine Group’s wider growth strategy to develop a nationwide network of specialist fire protection companies, bringing together established expertise and strengthening its position in the sector.

Established in 1992, Richmond Fire Engineers is based in Richmond, North Yorkshire, with an additional design office in Huddersfield. The business has developed a strong reputation over more than three decades, delivering fire protection solutions to public sector organisations and commercial and manufacturing sites across the UK.

Its services cover the complete lifecycle of fire suppression systems, including design, installation, inspection, servicing and ongoing maintenance. This comprehensive offering has helped the company establish a longstanding and loyal customer base.

Claire Owens, Chief Executive Officer of Alpine Group, said: “This acquisition marks an exciting milestone for us. We are proud to welcome the team from Richmond Fire Engineers and we look forward to supporting the company’s growth as part of our group.”

Chris Ryde, Joint Managing Director at Richmond Fire Engineers, said: “Joining the Alpine Group is an exciting next step for Rfe. It gives us the backing of a larger group while allowing us to keep doing what we do best, delivering a specialist service to our customers. We’re looking forward to what we can achieve together.”

Lee Smith, Joint Managing Director at Richmond Fire Engineers, added: “Being part of the Alpine Group strengthens our ability to deliver complex, specialist projects while maintaining the high standards and personal service Rfe is known for, for both our team and our customers.”

The acquisition will not affect existing customer arrangements, with Richmond Fire Engineers continuing to operate its services without disruption. Customers will retain their existing relationships and continue dealing with the same team, while benefiting from the wider resources and capabilities available through Alpine Group.

Further announcements will be made as Richmond Fire Engineers progresses its development within the group.
