International Women’s Day Event raises £1,525 for Prevent Breast Cancer

A fundraising event held on International Women’s Day has whipped up £1,525 for local charity, Prevent Breast Cancer.

Altrincham Business Improvement District (BID) and Capstone Financial are delighted with the total from the event held at Prana in Altrincham, as all funds will benefit the charity based at the Nightingale Centre in Wythenshawe Hospital.

The event’s theme was Stronger Together, Sharing Success and included an inspiring line-
up of guest speakers; Rimi Thapar (Love Raw), Kate Hulley (Belmont Packaging) and Sarah
Fogg (Brows by Sarah).  They all shared their remarkable stories, shedding light on the achievements and challenges they faced whilst growing their businesses.

The event also focused on wellbeing and self-care with presentations on financial wellbeing and mental health, as well as fitness. Contributions were made by Sarah Jones (Project You), Janine Brink (Capstone Financial) and Zoe Rivers (Beyond Barriers).

Heather Glover, one of Prevent Breast Cancer ambassadors, shared her personal experience of breast cancer and how it inspired her business, Skarlette, which produces women’s double mastectomy swimwear.

Numerous other businesses contributed to the event’s success by putting on a fashion show and generously donating items for the goodie bags and raffle, while food and drinks were provided by Prana on Ashley Road.

Huge success

Sarah Healey from Capstone Financial said: “Friday’s event was a huge success, and we
are enormously grateful to everyone who participated, contributed, and attended. The
success of the occasion demonstrates the strength of community spirit and the shared
commitment to making a positive impact. Thank you to everyone”.

Mandy White, Altrincham BID director said: “Thank you again to everyone involved and to
Altrincham’s businesses for all their contributions. The speakers shared incredibly
inspirational stories and we are delighted to be supporting Prevent Breast Cancer through
Paint Altrincham Pink again this year.”
