Manchester’s newest food experience offers businesses a Christmas party with a difference

For businesses looking for an alternative to the traditional Christmas party this year, Food Escapes allows you to swap the standard format for an immersive city-wide food adventure.

New for 2026, Food Escapes combines food, puzzles and city exploration to create a company activity designed to get teams working together while enjoying the best of Manchester’s independent food and drink scene.

Rather than eating a meal sat round the same table all evening, Food Escapes gets teams out and about across Manchester, solving a series of puzzles delivered straight to their phones. Clues will lead them to 3 secret restaurants, where they will enjoy a curated dish before setting off to find the next stop.

As well as discovering some of Manchester’s food and drink hidden gems, teams can soak up the city’s festive atmosphere along the way, exploring Manchester’s Christmas sights and seasonal buzz as they navigate between stops.

The only experience of its kind in Manchester, Food Escapes combines food and exploration in an interactive format that encourages teamwork and friendly competition as players can compete to top the leaderboard. The experience launched in April 2026 and has been a sell out success.

Corporate packages are available from groups from 4 up to 130 with prices starting from £40 per person which covers the full experience, including food. With a range of food themes to choose from like a Dumpling Trail, the ‘Los Tacos’ game and Indian Street Eats, teams can explore popular districts including the Northern Quarter, Chinatown and Ancoats.

Food Escapes founder Aaron Winsloe said: “We’re seeing a shift in what people want from their corporate experiences. ‘Immersive’ has become a buzzword, but the experiences that really stand out are those which are unique that nobody has done before.

“That’s what we wanted to create with Food Escapes, something where teams solve puzzles together, explore the city and enjoy great food. It’s unique, it’s social, it’s memorable and gives businesses a Christmas activity that people will genuinely want to take part in.”
