Large cannabis farm uncovered by Salford police

Police have seized around 50 cannabis plants after responding to reports of a fight in Salford.

Suspicious activity was reported at a house on Joule Close but when officers attended at around 6:20pm on Tuesday, they discovered plants and drug paraphernalia, which have now been sent away for analysis.

Two men aged 32 and 40 have been arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of Class B drugs and remain in custody for questioning.

Anyone with further information can report it to police by quoting log 2783-12/03/24.

Chief inspector Darren Whitehead said: “This work forms part of our commitment to disrupting drugs supply across Salford and ensuring dangerous substances are kept off the streets and out of the hands of vulnerable people.

“Our neighbourhood officers are dedicated to ensuring that the people of Salford are kept safe and those who seek to disrupt their lives are arrested and prosecuted where appropriate.

“We are constantly building our intelligence picture in relation to drugs supply and all other forms of criminality – if anyone has information to share, please do so. Even if you think it is a minor, it could assist in the fight against crime.

“You can report information to a police officer directly, by calling 101, or by visiting www.gmp.police.uk.”
