Three people injured after targeted stabbings in Bury

A manhunt is underway in Bury after three people were stabbed in a targeted attack today.

The incident took place just after midday on Murray Road, which is near the renowned Bury Market.

The extent of the injuries sustained by three victims – who were taken to hospital – are not thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made but enquiries are ongoing.

Detective chief inspector John Charlton, of GMP’s Bury division, said: “We believe this incident was a targeted attack and thankfully no one has suffered life-threatening injuries.

“There is not a threat to the wider public and we believe this was an isolated incident. You may see heightened patrols in the local area – don’t be alarmed by this. Our officers are there to help, support and reassure the wider community.
