This new service is designed to support Local Authorities and Private Developers in advancing regeneration projects that enhance UK towns, cities, and neighbourhoods. The initiative will be spearheaded by Cathy Palmer, a seasoned professional in the field of regeneration, who takes on the role of Director of Regeneration Delivery.
With a distinguished career, notably as the former Head of Regeneration Delivery at Wirral Council, where she was instrumental in the transformative Birkenhead programme, Cathy brings a wealth of experience and a community-centric approach to regeneration.
Her appointment, coupled with Walker Sime’s recent contributions to key projects in Rochdale Town Centre, Liverpool Waters, Eureka!, Wirral Waterfront, and Stockport 8, enriches the service with deep-seated regen expertise and a proven track record in project delivery.
Under Cathy’s guidance, the Regen Delivery service will focus on major mixed-use developments, aiming to revitalise areas into dynamic spaces for living, working, and visiting.
The service will extend comprehensive support, covering aspects such as project mobilisation, investment strategies, delivery blueprints, business case formulation, grant funding counsel, governance, bid assistance, procurement strategies, project planning, and risk mitigation. This broad spectrum of services positions Walker Sime’s Regen Delivery as a pivotal player in the regeneration sector.
Leveraging Walker Sime’s skilled teams across Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Cost Management, Employers Agent, and Bills of Quantities, the service promises a holistic approach to client support through the intricacies of regen projects.
