Witnesses to serious road collision in Bury needed

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision in Bury on Friday evening.

A 64-year-old man collided with a car while trying to cross the Derby Way carriageway at around 5.08pm.

The male pedestrian was taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment on his injuries, which are not immediately life-threatening or life-changing.

The driver of the car (44) was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury but he was later released.

Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has dash cam or CCTV, to come forward and assist their investigation.
