“My Day” Platform Revolutionises End-of-Life Planning and Communication

George Gyimah, a businessman from Hythe, Kent, has introduced “My Day,” the UK’s pioneering end-of-life planning platform. This innovative online platform serves as a repository for individuals to consolidate their end-of-life wishes and important information, ensuring that their loved ones can access these details easily when needed. “My Day” offers a comprehensive solution to the often complex and emotional process of handling a loved one’s affairs after their passing.

The platform enables users to store various documents and preferences, including wills, life or medical insurance details, banking and building society accounts, investments, assets, and even instructions for the care of their pets. Additionally, users can employ the “future messaging” feature, allowing them to send messages to their loved ones even after they have passed away. These messages can be for special events, congratulations, or heartfelt goodbyes.

“My Day” also provides a platform for creating a “digital memorial wall” where individuals can celebrate their life by sharing photos, videos, and recordings of significant moments and achievements. This wall serves as a cherished space for family and friends to remember and reflect on the person’s life.

George Gyimah, the founder of “My Day,” was inspired to create this platform after hearing friends and colleagues express their wishes for specific songs to be played at their funerals. He recognised that many individuals share their end-of-life wishes with friends, but these desires often remain unknown to their families. The platform aims to simplify the post-passing process by consolidating all crucial information in one accessible location, ensuring that individuals’ wishes are respected and their loved ones are relieved of the burdensome administrative tasks during a difficult time.

Gyimah emphasised the importance of addressing end-of-life matters, acknowledging that while people may be uncomfortable discussing death, it is an inevitable part of life. “My Day” not only streamlines end-of-life planning but also offers a platform for expressing final messages, providing comfort, and preserving cherished memories.

One notable feature of “My Day” is its ability to share funeral wishes promptly, unlike traditional wills, which may not be read until long after a person has passed away. The platform ensures that a person’s funeral preferences are known immediately after their passing.

Data entered into “My Day” is kept private and secure, and users have control over whether their trusted contacts can access their information before their passing. The platform employs 256-bit encryption, offering the same level of security as governments, banks, intelligence agencies, and the military.

“My Day” seeks to offer a comprehensive and compassionate solution to end-of-life planning, communication, and remembrance, making a challenging time more manageable for individuals and their families.
