C&C Insurance Brokers toasts ten-years with Sharks

Premiership Rugby Club Sale Sharks and Stockport-based C&C Insurance Brokers Ltd have worked together since 2011 and the company also sponsors flanker and England International Tom Curry

Sale Sharks and long-term sponsor C&C Insurance Brokers are celebrating a ten-year partnership milestone this month – one of the longest in the club’s history.

The Stockport-based insurance broker – one of the top 50 independent brokers in the UK – first linked up with Sharks in 2011 and has sponsored England International, Tom Curry, since he made his breakthrough into the first team in 2016.

During that time, C&C has continued to work even closer with the club’s commercial team, taking on sponsorship of the exclusive Sale Sharks Business Club.

The Business Club offers special one-off events and experiences for corporate members and has continued to host a range of virtual events throughout the pandemic to help keep the business community together.

Both the main hospitality and platinum suites at the AJ Bell Stadium are also sponsored by C&C, and despite fans not currently being allowed to attend fixtures under government guidance, the firm’s Managing Director, Malcolm Cooke, is looking forward to the day when that changes.

He said “We’ve loved working with Sale Sharks for the past decade and very much see ourselves as part of the Sharks family.

“We first joined up with Sale to help promote the C&C brand with an audience of company owners, decision makers and high net worth individuals, and we’ve seen a huge return on that decision. It’s a partnership that’s delivered a lot of benefits for us as a company and we’re really excited to keep building on that.

“We’ve supported Tom Curry for a number of seasons now and with a new Director of Rugby joining the club in Alex Sanderson, there are definitely exciting times ahead for the club.

“Many of our employees are big fans and we are all missing the experience that comes with attending live sporting fixtures. But we’re confident those days will come again, and we will be there for the celebration when they do.”

Mark Cueto MBE, Sale Sharks’ Commercial Director, said: “We’re really pleased that the team at C&C have hit such a big milestone with us. They’re a long-term partner and very much part of the fabric of Sale Sharks.

“Having been with us for so many years, it just reinforces how much we value long-term partnerships and work as hard as we can to make sure our corporate sponsors continue to benefit from the partnerships we have in place.

“It’s no secret that it’s been an incredibly challenging time for the sports industry, but it’s brilliant to see that we have such a strong network of partners like C&C that continue to back us, and we’ll continue to do whatever we can in their best interests.”
