Shortlist announced for the Manchester Hoteliers’ Association Annual Ball and Awards

The shortlist has now been announced for the 14th Manchester Hoteliers’ Association Annual Ball and Awards.

More than 600 people from the region’s hospitality industry are expected to gather at the event at The Principal Manchester on Friday, October 20.

Ten prestigious awards, including the Howard Raynor Lifetime Achievement accolade, will be given out on the night.

Among those shortlisted are Ibrahim Moussa, Radisson Blu Manchester Airport, Chris Jones, Macdonald Manchester Hotel, Gemma Ashton, The Principal Manchester and Paul Upham, Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel – Free Trade Hall, who will contest the Rising Star Award.

Nominated in the Howard Raynor Lifetime Achievement Award are Andy Craggs, The Principal Manchester, Ray Begley, Malmaison and Emma Walker, The Lowry.

Manchester Hoteliers’ Association (MHA) Chair Adrian Ellis congratulated those shortlisted by judges and praised all entrants from the region’s hospitality and tourism who entered the fiercely contested categories.

“The MHA Ball is a very important date for hoteliers across Greater Manchester as it gives people a chance to join together and have fun,” said Adrian.

“We are aiming to raise £30,000 this year for brilliant causes including Mustard Tree, The Springboard Charity, Wood Street Mission and Hospitality Action.

“The calibre of entries to all the categories this year was extremely high and more people entered than in 2016.”

“I’d like to wish all nominees the very best of luck on the night of our 14th Annual Ball.”

He added: “Given the Las Vegas theme chosen this year, we are all excited already. It will be fantastic to celebrate the hard work of the many talented people who work in our industry.”

“We would like to thank this year’s category sponsors for their valuable support including Bunzl, Businesswise Solutions, Caterer.com, Manchester Evening News, Street Cars and Manchester Metropolitan University.

“We are also extremely grateful to our event partners who include Bidfood, Matthew Clark, Polkadot Design and Print, Udale Speciality Foods, Wenlock Spring, Ice Entertainment, Manchester Evening News, Hatch Mansfield, Catalyst Brands, Verve People and Vision Events.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £69 per person and are selling fast so be sure to book now to avoid disappointment.
