Infinitel goes above and beyond to help companies across the world during pandemic

Over two-thirds of businesses in the UK and EU have asked for help with telecommunications during nationwide lockdown

A recent report by Infinitel reveals that the telecoms business has helped companies across the UK, Europe and U.S. transition smoothly to a remote working environment, ensuring their business continuity is not affected during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Wigan-based company shares how its services have helped businesses across the world continue to operate by implementing cloud-based VoIP solutions, allowing organisations of all sizes to switch to remote working without sacrificing productivity.

Since the lockdown restrictions in March, Infinitel has more than doubled its turnover due to the sheer volume of companies becoming a remote workforce almost overnight. They have necessitated a telephony solution which keeps them connected with customers and employees in this ‘new norm’ working environment.

Some of their findings revealed that over two-thirds of Infinitel’s new customers (78%) did not previously have the right tools, software and communication devices to help them work remotely. Compared to 22% who had already taken steps into adopting new technology.

With this being a global pandemic, companies headquartered in the UK with offices overseas and businesses based in Europe and the USA, have all called upon Infinitel due to their international coverage. Infinitel has helped organisations with offices located in cities including London, Liverpool, Manchester, Berlin, Munich, Paris, Barcelona, Los Angeles and New York to replace their traditional on-premise telephone systems and upgrade to the latest cloud-based VoIP technology. 55% of their customers discovered them online and utilised their services to help them replace their phone system and implement solutions including 3CX and Direct Routing for Microsoft Teams.

Managing Director at Infinitel, Andrew Platt, shared how their services have helped businesses keep in touch with their customers and employees:

“Infinitel’s great value Cloud-based VoIP phone systems have helped businesses across the world adapt to remote working as users can work from anywhere with an internet connection using smartphone apps for iOS and Android or desktop apps for Windows and Mac.”

“Cloud-based VoIP phone systems provide all the features of a traditional phone system; without requiring any on-premise hardware. Saving businesses, the time and money they would historically spend to install and maintain an on-premise phone system. We offer our customers cost-effective solutions which means they can take advantage of the latest technology without worrying about making a large investment.”

Infinitel aims to provide high quality services at an affordable cost, giving businesses across the world the tools they need to adjust to remote working without breaking the bank. Unlike most cloud-based phone systems which are charged ‘per user’ Infinitel’s pricing is based on the number of concurrent calls needed; helping businesses make big savings on their monthly telecommunications bills.

Enabling remote working for a global workforce:

The telecom experts have delivered solutions for a range of companies who have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Their clients include TravelZoo and Switzerland Tourism whose industry was hit hardest by the impact of lockdown and limitations of travel.

Infinitel has completed a significant communications upgrade for Travelzoo, a global internet media company that publishes exclusive offers and experiences for members – replacing its legacy telephony platform and enabling telephony for Microsoft Teams.

Travelzoo required a cloud-based solution that delivered unified communications – allowing its employees to make phone calls, hold audio and video conferences and communicate via email or instant messaging – all from one single platform.

The telecommunications provider delivered a Direct Routing for Microsoft Teams solution that allows Travelzoo’s global workforce to make calls to external landlines and mobile phones from Microsoft Teams.

Principal Network Engineer, Karl Hope at Travelzoo, commented on how Infinitel’s services have improved their remote working:

“Working with Infinitel has given us the opportunity to overlook our current business processes and it has allowed us to make decisions which will help improve our company growth. We have been able to save a significant amount of money from shutting down our previous legacy phone system and investing in Microsoft Teams software.”

“Infinitel offered us a cloud-only based solution for telephony that worked seamlessly with Microsoft Teams. We were very impressed with their service as they offer good value compared with purchasing numbers directly from Microsoft and offer local numbers in our office locations, unlike Microsoft.”

Recent research made by the telecommunications provider reveals that SBC and Microsoft licensing costs companies up to £3000 for initial setup and then a further £460 a year for the SIP channels. Many businesses have tried to find a cost-effective solution by researching this on their own however many shortly realised that there are a lot of hidden licensing costs. However, Infinitel made sure that they supported businesses during these difficult times by halving their setup costs and providing a budget plan which allows companies to pay a fee which was affordable for their business.

IT Director for Europe and Africa at the ONE Campaign, Matt Connatty, commented on how he has learnt to manage an international business from home:

“Our main office is in Washington DC in the USA but we have offices locations based in London and Berlin. Our Berlin previously used a physical PABX system in their office, which has no options for remote usage. However, since upgrading our systems through Infinitel’s technical guidance, we have been able to operate as usual while we are working from home.”

Director at Cloudbox, Nick Goodenough commented on how the telecoms upgrade has improved their business :

“We received excellent technical support, and Infintel provided us with useful guidance to ensure we got the Microsoft Teams configuration correct. In addition to providing us with UK and South African Direct Routing SIP Trunks and numbers. We found using this new software has improved our business globally.”
