Manchester’s Tyler Grange undergoes significant restructure

Manchester environmental consultancy Tyler Grange has appointed a new managing director.

Jon Berry (pictured left) supersedes Simon Ursell (pictured centre) who becomes chair of the firm.

Both proven and innovative business leaders co-founded Deansgate’s Tyler Grange – expert in arboriculture, ecology and landscape planning – 14 years ago.

Jon – previously sales director at Places & Purpose – is now responsible for developing the consultancy’s commercial, people and ESG strategies and leading its 100+ strong nationwide team.

Within his remit is ensuring that the disruptive business continues to operate as efficiently, effectively and productively as possible.

Simon Ursell aims to further develops his non-executive portfolio. He’s now working with purpose-driven business owners and leaders to embed transformational change that will make a tangible difference in the success of their business, their people, and their own leadership.

A pioneer and believer of the four-day working week, he’ll work with Tyler Grange two days each week, and the other two with other SMEs.

The firm’s third co-founder Julian Arthur (pictured right) retains his role of technical director and will ensure that Tyler Grange continues to deliver the highest quality and most innovative client services and products.

Within the new structure, Julian is placing an even greater focus on bringing out even more of the technically excellent, inspirational top talent, within the consultancy, as well as collaborating with more like minded businesses and industry organisations.

Jon said: “Becoming managing director is a challenge that I welcome. It’s pushing me out of my comfort zone to lead Tyler Grange into the next phase of our journey. Simon, Julian and I co-founded the business and we’ve worked very closely together, and supported each other, ever since. I have no doubt that this will continue and we’re all very much looking forward to the new roles and dynamics that our restructure brings.”
