When is the next international break?

The good news is that’s it for international football until March next year.
That’s right, we have a four-month window to get stuck into domestic and continental action with few interruptions until well into 2024!
Most European leagues – apart from in England – will have a short break for Christmas but, apart from that, it’s club action from now until well into next year.

Why has this season felt so disjointed?

The autumn before a major summer tournament is always a hectic period for international football. We are currently in the third international break of the season following stoppages in club football in September and October.

What can we expect between now and March 2024?

Not just league football, we have domestic cups taking place all over Europe – by the time international football returns, we will know the semi-final line-up for the FA Cup, for example – while the major continental cups will have also moved on.
The Champions League group stages conclude before Christmas with the knockout rounds getting underway in February.

What are the fixtures when international football does return?

England have lined up a glamour friendly against Brazil at Wembley on Saturday, March 23 with Belgium the visitors to north-west London four days later.
Expect other countries to organise fixtures as they build up to the European Championship.

What’s the timeline for Euro 2024?

The draw will be made in Hamburg on Saturday, December 2.
The play-offs to determine the final qualifiers will be staged on March 21 and March 26.
Teams must submit their final squads of 23 players on June 7, a week before the tournament gets underway.
June 14 sees the opening game of Euro 2024 take place in Munich.
