Fury warns ‘sausage’ Usyk

Tyson Fury says he will sue “sausage” Oleksandr Usyk if he pulls out of a heavyweight unification bout later this year.

WBC champion Fury, who meets UFC fighter Francis Ngannou this weekend in a crossover fight in Saudi Arabia, is also scheduled to take on Usyk in the Middle East in December – a fight that has been mooted for several years.

The British fighter is desperate to claim Usyk’s WBO, IBO, IBF and WBA titles but there is still a lingering doubt over the clash after the Ukrainian suggested he needs 14 weeks to get in shape.

Fury told Sky Sports: “Usyk’s a sausage. I expect it to be taking place in December, that’s what I’ve been told, so I’ve got no reason to disbelieve it.

“Usyk has to fight me in December, doesn’t have a choice.

“He signed the contract, so if he doesn’t, he’s breached the contract and he gets sued. So he doesn’t really have a choice.”

Usyk is expected to be ringside for the Ngannou fight but Fury is taking one opponent at a time.

He told Mail Sport: “It’s not about him. This is the Tyson Fury show. It’s about me and Francis Ngannou.

“The African King is meeting the Gypsy King and you know, we are throwing it down. So, anything that happens after that, happens after that and anything before that, is not important.”
