LONDON, UK. October 8th, 2026: ONEEV has rapidly established itself as the UK’s leading free electric vehicle app, achieving the milestone less than a year after its full public launch. Thousands of drivers across the UK and Ireland are now using the platform to access charging facilities and simplify their EV journeys.
Founded by Tim Moore and Lyndon Gough, ONEEV was developed in response to the challenges they encountered as electric vehicle drivers, including inaccurate charging information, the need to switch between multiple apps and difficulties finding reliable services for EV ownership.
The platform now provides access to more than 70,000 charge points through a single service that combines charging, payments, route planning and other EV-related solutions.
This achievement follows a period of significant development, beginning with the original concept in early 2024, followed by a beta launch in 2025 and a full public rollout in December of that year.
Users can find charging locations, check live availability, compare current prices, pay securely through the app and receive instant receipts. Integrated journey planning also allows drivers to include charging stops along their routes, making longer trips easier to manage. Following registration, the app is free to use and brings essential charging and travel tools together in one place.
Unlike many charging applications associated with individual operators or networks, ONEEV provides independent access to infrastructure from multiple charging providers through a single platform.
“We don’t need to tie ourselves to any one provider because we work with them all,” said co-founder Tim Moore.
Data quality has played an important role in the company’s development. ONEEV reports 99.8 per cent data accuracy across its technology platform, helping drivers make better-informed choices when selecting charging locations.
Beyond charging, the app connects users with services and products including home charger installation, EV insurance, tyres, breakdown cover and accessories.
The company has also introduced a loyalty programme that allows drivers to earn rewards through charging activity, including gift card incentives.
Moore said: “The original idea came from our own experiences as EV drivers. We felt there was an opportunity to simplify a process that had become fragmented and frustrating for many people. We’re creating value for both drivers and charging providers by bringing everything together in one place.”
Co-founder Lyndon Gough added: “Reliable information remains one of the most important factors in creating a better charging experience. Our focus has been on giving drivers confidence that the information they see is accurate and up to date.”
The idea for ONEEV emerged when the founders compared their experiences of electric vehicle ownership and recognised that the difficulties drivers faced went beyond charging. Managing route planning, insurance, servicing, tyres and roadside assistance across separate platforms often added unnecessary complexity.
With its UK and Ireland offering continuing to develop, ONEEV is preparing for further expansion. Planned future markets include Europe, Australia and the United States, following completion of development work on its UK platform.
As electric vehicle adoption grows, the founders expect demand to increase for integrated services that combine charging, payments and wider ownership support in a straightforward, driver-focused experience.
