CHEC is proud to announce that it has been recognised on the UK’s Best Workplaces in Healthcare™ List for 2026, launched today by Great Place To Work® UK.
The national healthcare provider, which has headquarters based in Preston and over 30 hospitals across the country, has been ranked in the ‘Large & Super Large’ size category, earning a spot on the list amongst the nation’s biggest organisations.
It is the fourth consecutive year that CHEC, which now includes its private healthcare company, Clarity, has won a place on the list since first being recognised in 2023. The recognition is based on feedback from employees, who highlighted the strong sense of pride, purpose, and community as standout features that make CHEC an exceptional place to work.

Globally, the Best Workplace™ survey by Great Place to Work ™ is the largest survey of workplace cultures and people practices. The methodology that creates the Best Workplaces™ lists is one of the most rigorous and highly sought after – and regarded as the ‘gold standard’ of employer awards.
Employees responded to over 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their organisation creates a Great Place to Work For All™. 85% of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organisation, no matter who they are or what they do.
Great Place to Work® analysed these experiences relative to each organisation’s size, workforce makeup, and what’s typical relative to their industry peers. The remaining 15% is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure a consistent employee experience across departments and seniority levels.
