David Dye Announces New Spy Thriller Rashi, Compelled by AI. Junior, Possessed by Destiny

Veteran novelist to release fifth espionage thriller on 11 September 2026, expanding his acclaimed series of romance, intrigue and supernatural suspense
MILTON KEYNES, UK. August 5th, 2026 – Author David Dye is set to release his fifth novel, Rashi, Compelled by AI. Junior, Possessed by Destiny, on 11 September 2026, adding a futuristic chapter to his collection of romantic spy thrillers.
Set in the late 2030s, the novel combines espionage, artificial intelligence, romance and humour with a supernatural twist. Against the backdrop of mounting global tensions and the prospect of a Third World War, an elite intelligence team is guided by the spirit of a former agent tasked with helping its leader fulfil a greater destiny.
“With Rashi, I wanted to explore the meeting point of artificial intelligence, human courage and destiny. At its heart, the story is about hope, resilience and the choices that define our future.” — David Dye
Blending fast-paced suspense with uplifting storytelling, the book explores how technology, courage and human connection can prevail even in uncertain times.
The release continues Dye’s established series of interconnected thrillers, each centred-on intelligence operations, political intrigue and memorable characters.
A lifelong Londoner and one of the few remaining true Cockneys, David Dye grew up in West Ham within the sound of the original Bow Bells. Now approaching 80, he has written five novels, each inspired by his fascination with espionage, romance and the resilience of the human spirit.

His writing career began following the loss of his wife, when he turned to storytelling as a creative outlet. Rather than completing an autobiography, Dye drew inspiration from a woman named Anneliese, whom he met during a business trip to the Netherlands. Their decades-long friendship inspired the fictional heroine who features throughout his novels.
While the stories are fictional, Dye says one detail is true: Anneliese worked as an undercover agent for a Western nation. The rest is left to readers’ imagination. Here is a breakdown of each of Dye’s novels:
Rashi, Compelled by AI. Junior, Possessed by Destiny
The latest novel introduces readers to a near-future world transformed by artificial intelligence. As geopolitical tensions escalate, a covert intelligence team must navigate complex threats while receiving unexpected guidance from the Metaphysical Realm. The result is a distinctive romantic thriller that balances futuristic concepts with humour, suspense and hope.
It’s Your Duty to Die
This political thriller imagines a future in which Britain’s democracy is placed under severe threat after an extremist government rises to power. As authoritarian policies take hold with support from hostile foreign interests, the newly formed European American Intelligence (EAI) organisation launches a mission to restore stability. Led by Anneliese and her son, Frank Junior, the novel combines espionage with romance and humour while examining the importance of protecting democratic values.
New Havana Syndrome!
In this high-stakes thriller, coordinated terrorist attacks cripple healthcare systems across the Western world, while a mysterious neurological condition incapacitates senior government officials. Intelligence operative Anneliese leads an elite team to stop the growing crisis, confronting international conspiracies, hostage situations and supernatural forces in a race against time.
Anneliese and the Geezer
Serving as a prequel to Cold War, Hot Pursuit, this novel follows Anneliese’s first undercover mission after university. Tasked with infiltrating an organised crime network during the Cold War, she finds herself falling in love with the very man she has been sent to expose, forcing her to choose between duty and personal loyalty.
Cold War, Hot Pursuit
Dye’s debut novel is set in the 1960s and follows a young businessman whose life changes after meeting a woman leading a dangerous double life. Their romance soon becomes entwined with Cold War espionage, leading them into a world of international intrigue, betrayal and survival.
Dye’s latest book, Rashi, Compelled by AI. Junior, Possessed by Destiny, is set to be released on 11th September 2026. It will be available to purchase from major retailers, including AmazonBarnes & Noble, and Walmart
Demonstrating his commitment to giving back, David Dye has pledged to donate all royalties from his latest book to local Hospice charity
