WOKINGHAM, UK, June 11, 2026: Former QVC presenter Anne Dawson has launched trueNorth Studio, a new business designed to help companies raise their profile through professional video content and brand storytelling.
The newly established company creates promotional videos that help organisations showcase their expertise and connect with customers.
Based in Wokingham near Reading, Anne says the concept draws heavily on the skills she developed during her years on live television.
She said: “There is still no script, there is still no take two. I will have done my prep work with the client beforehand, we will have had our Zoom calls, but it’s not just about a list of features and benefits. We are having a chat. It’s like having a coffee, but I know where it’s going.
“I do the calls to action. I look at the camera and speak to the viewer. It is always nicer to have somebody else blow your own trumpet. It is so much easier.
“I am in my happy place because my happy place is in a studio and my happy place is talking to people without a script. I know basically where it’s going but exactly where I go next will depend on what they have answered previously.”
Although the conversations feel relaxed, Anne says the production standards are highly professional.
“The client gets a 45-minute video, there or thereabouts, professionally edited and ready to feature on their website.
“This is broadcast quality. My official title is Business Broadcast Producer. I am doing exactly what I did at QVC, but now I am doing it for businesses.
“It is all produced using broadcast-quality cameras, professional editing, hair and make-up, behind-the-scenes content and photography. It is a complete package.
“At the end of the process, clients receive the interview, four professionally edited reels, around 50 to 60 photographs and a similar number of behind-the-scenes images, giving them plenty of content to use across their marketing channels.”
The idea for trueNorth Studio emerged during a period of significant change in Anne’s life.
“I left after the death of my brother, who I had looked after for 17 years,” she said. “I remember thinking, ‘This is not a dress rehearsal.’
“I was post-divorce, my brother had passed away and my children had all grown up. It made me realise just how much experience I had built up over more than 40 years in sales, including 26 years selling live on television without scripts or second chances.
“In that environment, you have to deliver results consistently or you simply do not last.
“My role was always about selling products and brands for other people. Eventually, I started wondering why I could not use those same skills to help promote businesses instead.”
Drawing on more than 25 years of live broadcasting experience, Anne says integrity remains at the heart of her work.
“My whole ethos is integrity. It is selling with integrity,” she said. “I have always believed sales should be honest, ethical and authentic. Without those qualities, you are unlikely to enjoy a long career.
“I love what I do because every day is different. I become genuinely interested in the businesses I work with. When I get excited about what they do, that enthusiasm often comes back to them as well, especially if they have lost sight of it over time.”
Anne believes effective communication is one of the most valuable assets any business can have “When the message is clear, the decision is easy.”
