Police seek footage of road collision in Manchester

Police are keen to speak to witnesses to a road collision that occurred on Wilmslow Road, near to the junction on Sunbank Lane, between a cyclist and vehicle.

The incident happened just after 8am on Monday.

Police believe the cyclist was travelling south down Wilmslow Road and at the same time, a horsebox was also travelling south along Wilmslow Road behind the cyclist.

The cyclist collided with the horsebox causing him to be unseated from the bike.

A man in his 60s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and is now in a serious condition.

No arrests have been made but police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Officers are also keen to trace the driver of a white VW Polo that was travelling directly behind the horse box at the time of the incident, and may be able to provide information on what happened.

Anyone with CCTV footage, including dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision, should submit to police as it may be crucial to their enquiries.
