The State of Play
The Delhi Capitals go into tomorrow’s game against the Kolkata Knight Riders looking to prove the win against the much-fancied Chennai Super Kings was not a flash in the pan.
The Super Kings, the defending IPL champions, were swept aside by 20 runs as Delhi registered their first win of the season with an impressive all-round display.

David Warner and Rishabh Pant – his first significant knock since returning from serious injuries sustained in a car crash – registered half-centuries before medium pacer Mukesh Kumar claimed three for 21 to stifle the Super Kings’ reply.
The Capitals won’t find it easy against a Knight Riders side in form and seeking a third successive win, however.

Captain Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 39 in the seven-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru last time out provided encouragement while Phil Salt and Andre Russell continued the good form they showed in the opening win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
They will hope for more from record-signing Mitchell Starc, however, with the Australia paceman having been expensive.
Despite having a 100 per cent record so far, Iyer is not getting carried away. Asked to evaluate their expectations for this season, he said: “We’re not expecting much. The season has just started and we have just two wins so far. We need to embrace this and enjoy each others’ successes.”

Prediction
Form and confidence are key factors in any sport but particularly cricket and the IPL where the games come thick and fast.
The Capitals were impressive last time out but the Knight Riders have their tails up and in Salt and Russell have potential matchwinners.
We’re taking the visitors to make it three wins from three.
