New event aims to fill skill gaps in Manchester

Access Industry (formerly National College Creative Industries) has announced an event to address local concerns around skills gaps in the digital and creative industries.

The newly-launched outfit has already delivered successful apprenticeships to Disney, National Trust, Royal Opera House and more, and are now reaching out to local employers to forge further partnerships.

Skills gaps are a focal point for Greater Manchester Combined Authority and a wider, national concern, with particular attention on IT and digital skills.

In a Forbes survey of 500 British businesses, “93% reported a gap in IT skills in their workforce… especially in AI, data analytics and cloud computing”.

To help address future skills gaps in Manchester, Access Industry is calling all local employers to join a two-day ‘Access Talent’ event happening in Manchester on April 8 and 9.  The aim is to pair passionate young people with innovative employers for apprenticeship opportunities.

The schedule for the event at New Century, Manchester, M4 4AH, is as follows:

  • Day 1 | 8th April | 9:30am – 4:00pm | Events Apprenticeship Recruitment
  • Day 2 | 9th April | 9:30am – 4:00pm | Digital, Marketing & Software Apprenticeship Recruitment
