Rio Ferdinand will fulfill his television duties with TNT Sports tonight after leaving last night’s coverage early due to illness.
The former Manchester United defender was not present post-match to discuss Newcastle’s draw at Paris Saint-Germain with host Laura Woods saying he had to leave the broadcast due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

It later transpired Ferdinand had started to feel unwell during the game and left the Parc des Princes to return to his hotel.
He was able to make the early flight from Paris to Istanbul, however, and this morning posted a video of himself and TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher being carried through the airport in Turkey.

Ferdinand will be in the stadium tonight to offer his views on United’s Champions League clash at Galatasaray.
