Manchester Central shares exclusive insight into its transformation from Nightingale back to iconic events venue

The latest episode of Manchester Central’s podcast spin-off series shines the spotlight back on the venue.

Having spent 12-months as an NHS Nightingale Hospital, supporting the UK’s fight against COVID-19, Manchester Central is now in the process of being transformed back to a world-class events venue.

The venue’s facilities management team have been working tirelessly over the last few months to restore the iconic Manchester Central spaces to their original state; working with contractors to remove the hospital infrastructure and ensuring that all venue facilities are fully reinstated, ready to welcome the return of events.

Digital Communications Executive and Central Chat host, Samantha Pike-Devlin, returned to Manchester Central earlier this month to speak to some of the team onsite to find out what they’ve been working on, how they feel about being back and what they’re most looking forward to about the venue re-opening next month.

As well as speaking to Director of Facilities, Andy Kelly, and his team, Samantha also caught up with the venue’s Head Chef, Head of IT, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager and many other team members before chatting to Manchester Central CEO, Shaun Hinds, about what’s next for the venue.

You can listen to the new podcast episode at centralchat.buzzsprout.com or by searching ‘Central Chat’ on iTunes, Spotify and all other podcast providers.

Manchester Central is calling for event professionals or businesses across the UK to get in touch if they’re interested in being featured on the podcast.
