Farleys Solicitors launches immigration service to help the region’s employers prepare for Brexit

Leading law firm Farleys Solicitors has boosted its offering with the launch of a specialist immigration service, to help the region’s employers prepare for Brexit amidst the continued uncertainty over the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.

Immigration specialist Charlotte Ashton joins Farleys from MLP Law, bringing over six years of immigration law experience with her.

She is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association and offers a range of specialist advice to both businesses and individuals on how to safeguard and mitigate the risks of impending changes in UK immigration policy, including helping employers to secure the rights of EU Workers, advising businesses on how to become sponsors in order to employ individuals from outside the UK, and compliance with UK Visas and Immigration and Home Office requirements.

Charlotte also supports individuals on a range of visas and applications for indefinite leave to remain, also advising international students from local universities about their options to remain in the UK in advance of the expiry of their Tier 4 visa.

Charlotte said: “In the current business climate, with Brexit on the horizon, and with many businesses now competing for talent on a global scale, it is important for employers and business owners to ensure that any workers living and working in the UK are doing so legally, to avoid any penalties and reputational damage, alongside protecting any business-critical talent and skills.

“I’m delighted to be joining Farleys and bringing this new area of expertise to complement the firm’s current offering”.

Commenting on her appointment, Partner Ian Liddle said: “Charlotte’s expertise and strong reputation ensures that she is a key addition to the growing team here at Farleys.

“At a time where it is vital for employers to be assessing the impact which Brexit may have on their business, we are delighted to be able to offer this service to our existing and new clients in order to help keep or bring specialist staff into the UK.”
