Brookson Group pledges to fund new apprenticeship scheme for small businesses

Brookson Group – a compliance and services provider for the temporary workforce – will provide £900,000 to the recently launched FCSA Levy Network

The government-backed scheme has been set up by the Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) to empower small businesses to set up the apprenticeships that are required to upskill their workforce, helping to level the playing field between them and bigger organisations.

Brookson joins the network that will use its apprenticeship levy funds to support and fund apprenticeships for other companies, reinvesting into the growth and development of the workforce.

The network is open to any businesses in the supply chains of FCSA accredited members, recruiter partners and business partners.

It received pledges exceeding £1.2 million within 24 hours after its official release, greatly boosted by the latest pledge from Brookson.

Matt Fryer, managing director at Brookson Group (pictured) said, Working in tandem with our internal “Grow” initiative, this scheme now allows Brookson to unlock our apprenticeship levy pot to support the whole of the temporary workforce community and offer opportunities to the next generation of contractors, freelancers, and workers of all kinds.

“These apprenticeships will introduce new talents and skills to the flexible workforce, which is vital for the health of our economy, providing access to a greater pool of skilled workers for companies of all sizes.”

Brookson Group has been supporting the freelancer workforce for over 25 years as a compliance and services platform for freelancers and their hirers.

During this time, the company has had a prominent voice for contractors, advocating for a simpler and more compliant employment system where temporary working can be encouraged and rewarded.
