Stanford Research Fellow Samuel Kim Highlights Bangladeshi Researcher Md. Hadi Al-Amin’s Inspiring Journey Built on Determination

At only 21 years old, Bangladeshi diploma graduate Md. Hadi Al-Amin has reached an achievement that many aspiring researchers spend years pursuing. Just six months after joining EIMATEL, the European Institute for Materials, AI and Technology in Spain, affiliated with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, he earned authorship on an international research paper published in a journal with an impact factor above 6.

Hadi’s path was filled with challenges.

He lost his father to cancer at the age of 13. While many children were focused on school and everyday life, Hadi faced uncertainty about his family’s future. The emotional impact affected his education, making it difficult to stay focused on academics.

Even so, his passion for learning never disappeared.

To help support his family, Hadi worked in several repetitive jobs. Although the income was necessary, he dreamed of building technology, automating processes, analyzing data, and solving meaningful problems.

While studying mechatronics at Magura Polytechnic Institute, he became increasingly interested in programming, automation, and intelligent systems. At 17, he began his career as a programmer at an e-commerce company before later working remotely as a data analyst for a US-based company while continuing his studies.

After nearly two years, Hadi chose to leave the stability of his remote position so he could dedicate himself to research.

That choice led him to EIMATEL, where he joined as a young diploma graduate on probation. Within six months, he became the author of his first international publication, “Evolution of Strategies in Iterated Games: A Deep Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning Approach with Hybrid Genetic and CMA-ES Optimization,” published in Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence in June 2026.

The accomplishment came after countless late nights spent coding, testing ideas, debugging software, running simulations, and teaching himself skills beyond the classroom.

“What Hadi achieved during his first six months at EIMATEL was honestly difficult to imagine. He entered the institute as a young diploma graduate on probation, yet within that short period, he contributed to his first international publication in a journal with an impact factor of 6.7. For someone of his age and academic background, this was an extraordinary accomplishment.

“What makes his achievement even more meaningful is the journey behind it. Hadi did not come from privilege, a famous university, or a smooth academic path. He built his progress through long nights of coding, failed experiments, constant self-learning, and the courage to continue when giving up would have been much easier. His story shows that genuine research ability is defined by curiosity, resilience, discipline, and the willingness to keep learning.”

Hadi’s journey demonstrates that difficult beginnings do not determine future success. Through determination, curiosity, and perseverance, he transformed hardship into opportunity and showed that dedication can open doors regardless of someone’s starting point.
