Salford Uni helps Burkert Innovative Solutions develop new product

Burkert Innovative Solutions Ltd has to thanked Wirral Chamber of Commerce and the University of Salford’s Structures and Enterprise team for the support of the firm’s Click Fix product.

The journey started with Bradley Burkert attending a workshop at Wirral Chamber and chatting with Business Growth Manager, Lisa Furlong about the innovation journey.  This led to support under the Business Growth Programme and introduction to the testing facilities at Salford.

Whilst Click Fix is already on sale at main suppliers, to commercialise more widely and overseas BIS Ltd needed certified pressure test reports. The University carried out 4 tests in a controlled lab on Click Fix which resulted in proving a 55 bar (equivalent to 800psi) pressure test and held for 30 minutes before being released.  With the resulting report BIS Ltd can advance their sales and marketing strategy over the next 12 months.

Lisa and Gary Bateman from Salford University met with Bradley and team to develop their 12 month strategy and further signposting in a great example of collaboration. Signposting included introductions to the Department for International Trade (DIT).  BIS Ltd hope to have continued engagement and success with both organisations and are making good use of the events and support on offer through their Wirral Chamber membership.

Bradley said: “We feel so positive moving forward with Click Fix now that we have the report.  Lisa has provided us with fantastic support from our very first contact and it’s been great working with her and Gary”.
