Cheltenham Day 3 Feature Race – The Ryanair Steeplechase
The Ryanair Steeplechase only found its way to the position of signature race in 2024, which isn’t surprising considering just how young this race is. Its first run was less than two decades ago in 2005, but it’s cemented itself as a festival staple thanks to its popularity with bettors and racegoers alike. The Ryanair Steeplechase is seen as a test of racers’ all-round aptitude, testing speed over a middle distance of 2m 4½f, and always proves to be an accessible and exciting race. You can catch the Ryanair Steeplechase at 14:50, and the current favourite is Banbridge.

Cheltenham Festival 2023 Recap
St. Patrick’s Thursday of the Cheltenham Festival is a day where overall strength and endurance are tested with both the Ryanair Steeplechase and the Stayers’ Hurdle — the kings of middle-distance races — taking place back to back. The Ryanair Chase was taken by Envoi Allen and Rachel Blackmore, securing the steed his third Festival Grade One win. However, it was the huge upset during the Stayers’ Hurdle, with Sire du Berlois clinching a win despite 33/1 odds, that really stuck with us!
